This is a lovely hotel with a pool and fitness centre in addition to its comfortable rooms. The rooms have safes, ironing boards, kettles etc. The room lighting is good with task lighting over the desk. There is an abundance of power outlets. Wifi is super fast. The only let downs were (1) availability of hot water in basin (I took to shaving in the shower) and (2) TV channels available. The breakfast was excellent but, again, some negatives such as the time taken to get a seat (I know one needs to check if the guest has paid for breakfast but waiting over 5 minutes is not acceptable) and the speed of table clearing (I had my table cleared and reset when I got up to get some toast. Annoying as I was just about to enjoy a cup of tea). Good parking availability with surface and basement parking. Easy to get to Cork city centre on the 220 bus which runs past the door
This could be a great hotel stay but not in summer. The rooms are cooled by 2 tiny windows and small desk fan. The bathrooms don’t even have fans to vent the rooms. On a 75 degree F day in Blarney and windows facing the sun all day long, the room must have been 90 degrees when we checked in. Now at 8:30 PM it is still unbearably hot. We have the door propped open with a pillow and the chain to keep out uninvited guests. We are hoping for some cross ventilation from the hot hallway but this is unlikely because the windows at the stairwell don’t seem to open at all. Staff’s reaction to my question about lack of any AC was “it is a 100 year old hotel”. Well, the mill store connecting to it has AC as does the pub and restaurant they are in former mills also 100 years old. The hotel has location, convenience, cleanliness, etc. going for it — but we are literally roasting in our rooms.
The service staff was friendly and the accommodation was very good. The hotel also provides bathrobes and disposable slippers. Not too far from the Cork Center. Compared to the four-star hotel of the same price I stayed near Dublin Airport, all aspects are much better. Unfortunately, time is tight and there is no free pool and sauna to enjoy.

The best hotel in Cork, but unfortunately it is a bit far from the city center, more than 3 kilometers to the train station, and it is not very convenient to take the bus. The room area is not very large, and the room facilities are quite complete. The hotel service is very good, and it can respond quickly. When checking out, they also extended the room. The hotel breakfast is in the form of ordering and buffet, but the variety of buffet is very limited, but the taste of the order is very good.
The hotel is close to Cork city centre, with convenient transportation and a good local hotel. The interior is fully equipped and the service is very welcoming. It can also be accommodated 1-2 hours in advance. There are restaurants in the bar, but there are fewer varieties of breakfast.
Convenient transportation, close to the city center, high cost performance, early check-in. The service is very enthusiastic, and I also take the initiative to provide Cork maps to customers and give a general explanation.
Generally, a good experience. However, they closed the hotel bar at 11pm without even offering the guests a chance to buy last drinks. No room service available and no manager on duty to complain to. We arrived back after a show looking forward to a nightcap. VERY DISAPPOINTING. There were about 20 other angry guests there.
On the positive side, the hotel is easy to reach from the airport, the rooms are large and beds comfortable. The breakfasts are generally of a good standard with a interesting selection. We were able to park easily. Staff friendly and helpful. The areas for us that could have been improved would include the breakfast system for having eggs cooked freshly, as most people abandoned the idea when being told there were many orders waiting to be cooked, so there would be a fair wait. Our room faced West, so by the end of a hot summer’s day, the room was also well warmed! The aircon setting of 19 degrees was hopeless in bringing the temperature down quickly and effectively, and the window only opened a tiny bit. We are still waiting for someone to explain to us why hotels still have winter weight quilts on beds in the summer…we seem to spend more time sleeping on them than under them!!!! Unfortunately this hotel is probably not an option for those on a limited budget.
