The best hotel experience, staff were super welcoming and took really good care of my family’s needs. I will definitely be returning and staying again at this Travelodge. The outdoor garden and scenic environment, along with the peaceful atmosphere and quietness of the hotel overall.
We stayed here for 2 nights as we were going to see the Abba show at the Abba arena. I cannot fault it at all. We had a lovely bedroom which was spotlessly clean and had a little terrace with table and two chairs. There was a supply of biscuits tea coffee etc and two bottles of water which were replenished. The bath towels were a sensible size and were replaced on the second day and shampoo ,shower gel, hand wash and hand lotion provided. There was also a floor standing fan in our room which was appreciated as the weather was very hot. The staff were all friendly and there was a fantastic cooked breakfast on both days(we were staying over the weekend-I think in the week it is a continental breakfast.) There was also cereals, fruit juices and pastries and bread provided to make toast. There was a bus which stopped nearby and we were able to get to woodford underground station on the central line which was ideal for getting to the Abba arena. The pub was located in a nice area and the localpeople were all friendly. If we are ever going to an event in London again we would not hesitate to stay there.
Like getting stuck in old dingy elevators with weird decor for almost an hour? Then sure! Book this Horrible place. No, Stay far away! The entire place needs to be done over. Everything is dated, dingy, and old including the elevator which ultimately broke down and led to an emergency situation for us. Will get into details about that issue below. The price point doesn't align with the rooms available. The rooms pictured are NOTHING like what is pictured on the website. First problem: Ordered a superior king, but got a double and they couldn't make changes cause they were booked up. Was too tired to ask for a change anyway but should have gotten what I paid for or at least charged the cost of the lesser room but whatever. Backstory is that our family had booked multiple rooms to attend a family event and pretty much were occupying most of their rooms. Can't imagine how much we much have spent at this hotel to be treated the way we were after a series of unfortunate and deeply concerning incidents. As mentioned earlier, the hotel elevators are visibly old obviously needing serious renovations. Not-so-shockingly, on the first day, several family members became trapped in the elevator for over 40 minutes.By the time emergency services pried open the elevator doors, ppl stuck inside had overheated, we're dehydrated, and experiencing panic attacks. We were so glad everyone was safe that we didn't even make a complaint and were told that the elevator would be blocked off to prevent further incidents. To our disbelief, the following day, the same elevator malfunctioned again, this time trapping younger family members. We discovered that the tag blocking the elevator had been removed, and our elderly uncle, who is wheelchair-bound, could have faced a life-threatening situation. In a state of panic, we began looking for the hotel staff because no one was around or at the desk to offer any reassurance that they were working hard and doing their best to get our family members out. Where was the staff while we were losing our minds out of worry?? hiding in an office. Not kidding. They finally opened the the door let us know not to bring our issues in there to them. Lmao! The callousness was so heartbreaking. No one was providing updates so we were left pacing the halls worried after being told the fire dept response would take 30minutes!!!! Apparently, they didn't relay to 999 that it was an emergency, only that that elevator was stuck so we had to call by ourselves, to let them know it was an emergency! Mechanical failures happen, we get that. But the additional indifference just made things worse. Our family event was delayed, makeups were ruined and the whole thing just deflated our enthusiasm. Instead of enjoying our occasion we were left anxious, distressed and exhausted. The kids stuck in the elevator were fine but this should not have happened. Best Western should not have it's brand name affiliated with this place. Don't let them ruin your special d

Liked · The room and bathroom was clean. The owner was initially friendly - I asked about check out time, she said not to worry - whenever I was ready, which was a lovely response. Parking was easy. The bathroom was well presented. Disliked · The shower was scalding - when I told the owner she said 'many people' had complained, but the fault was with me (and the previous people) because we didn't use the dial. I did use the dial and it was scalding. Given that many people have complained, clearly the issue is the shower and not 'many people'. She later said this was 2 people. The owner was hostile at my complaint, which really is not unreasonable. The room is shabby (see pictures). The curtains don't fit, aren't hung properly (see pictures). The furniture is sp**** and shabby (see pictures). Windows frame appears to have melted. Holes in the curtains (see pictures). The bed is squeaky as soon as it is touched. The owner, when I complained about the shower, said she isn't a 5 star hotel, she is a 0 star hotel. This really isn't good enough. The basics I expect is a bed which doesn't squeak and a shower which is usable.
Hotel was easy to get to, cheap overnight parking. Although there was a van that had gotten broken into in the morning which was worrying. The room was generally decent, not the cleanest fee to the room although.
The sleep was good and the reception staff were friendly.
