Not a bed place very quite

Beautiful hotel, lovely friendly staff, comfortable clean room with new upgraded decor and great facilities, relaxing and easy access to parks, the hotel needs more staff to cater to guests as there are not enough staff members to accommodate the amount of guests especially when it is dinner time, some food was served cold but only on certain days so I am assuming they have different chefs for some days, as mostly the food was perfect and amazing!

Having married at The Mount in 2019, we have visited on several occasions since then, for Sunday lunch, afternoon tea, Christmas Eve, Christmas parties, and have always received the most spectacular service. Yesterday, we had a family celebration lunch and it was simply out of this world - from the initial arrangement to the actual day, the service, the food, the welcome from the team, my beautiful hotel room...I would not hesitate to recommend them. Special thanks to Sabrina on the Sales team. Lynn and Sarah on reception (extra thanks to Sarah for my celebratory cake!), Sophie and Terry for looking after my extended family on the day, and the fabulous kitchen team for the glorious food. Could we do it all over again next week please?!

There were 8 of us. 5 adults and 3 children. We had a family room and 2 other rooms. It was only 10 minutes from the family party we were going to. The hotel had an event booked, with music. They did warn us in advance, and the music did go off at midnight as promised. Unfortunately the design of the hotel is that the family rooms are the closest to the function room. We went into the bar for food (nearly 3 hours in the car). The bar manager rearranged tables and furniture to accommodate us all together, nothing was too much trouble. Above and beyond. Totally understanding of hungry 1 and 5 year old, whilst not misbehaving, were loud. The gluten free option one of our party chose was not available, so they accommodated with another meal, and didn't charge the extra. Other staff were also great, offering to help on the corridor etc. Next time we visit family, this will be the first choice. The rooms were spacious, clean and had everything we needed. Only wish we had had the time to visit the spa.

Tired property in need of major refurbishment, though bedrooms and the bathrooms were clean as was the towels and bedding despite the outdated decor. Rooms were extremely warm and we did have to open the window for comfort. Both bedrooms were spacious enough and both had a bath as well as an overbath shower, though I could not get the water to heat up. Our other guest's headboard was half hanging from the wall! Only stayed for one night as attending a local event. Parking at the rear was available and secure. The gardens were in need of a tidy, but given the recent weather could be excused. On arrival there was an ashtray outside the main door overflowing with cigarette buts, not a great initial welcome. The public areas downstairs were very dark, dingy and the type of ornaments did not help. Breakfast was available at an extra cost, we did not opt for that though it did smell nice. Price of one room without breakfast was £63, much cheaper than the hotels in the town but you get what you pay for. With some investment, it could be a goldmine. Location in a residential area, extra cost for taxis into town, but no charge for parking.
