Please be aware that if you book an Accessible Room, it's a normal sized bathroom and it has a shower over a bath! It has plenty of rails for you to hold onto, but if you are a wheelchair user you will struggle. I only managed to have a shower with the help of my husband. It is not mentioned anywhere on the site, it just says to be aware there are no lifts. I did ask reception staff if all of the accessible room are like that and they said yes, and to mention it to customer support (which I have done). I'm guessing they get a lot of complaints about it. They did offer to move me to another travelodge with proper accessible rooms but I was booked into the pub next door for a meal and didn't want to relocate. Also do not stay in room number 1. It is right next to the door into the main hotel, and directly opposite the staff door into reception so you are constantly disturbed during the night with the coming and going of guests and staff. The website does say they are closing for a refurb soon so please contact and make sure that the accessible bathrooms have been updated with proper wetrooms before you book
After visiting quite a few spa hotels for one night spa breaks I can honestly say this way by far the worst. To start- the 'spa'- the pool was freezing, as were the showers. The hot tub was out of order (and seems to be a common thing here looking at past reviews). Everybody we spoke to in the pool was shocked at the water temperature and lack of facilities, a spa should be relaxing not make you feel as though you need to do laps just to stay warm. As a result everyone was trying to use the sauna at once and so it was overcrowded in there. The restaurant- It's more like a conference room that the staff have carried some tables into for the evening, nothing about the room we sat in said restaurant. During our evening meal they brought out bread to the table and upon asking whether I could eat it if I can't have milk they said no and offered me a piece of dry toast instead. Breakfast was also poor. 'Bar/Lounge'- There is no bar here, unless you class the room full of men jumping up and down shouting at football on the tv, and glasses piled high on tables whilst staff stood around. Not exactly the 'spa' feel we expected. It was loud, dirty and overcrowded. Room- The room was clean and basic. All seemed fine until we went to bed, at around 1am the TV switched itself on, very loud and we had to search for the remote. This happened multiple times throughout the night and so by the morning we were absolutely exhausted. I mentioned this to reception and was told there is no fault with the TV. (They weren't the ones dealing with it in the middle of the night!) I raised my complaint to reception, I asked for a manager and was given a head cleaner instead. There was very little acknowledgement of any of my points, the emails following my departure were very defensive rather than just accepting that this is not at all what you expect from a spa. I do not therefore believe it should be advertised as such. I was eventually given a £17 refund along with another email disputing my claims. Terrible place, I will steer clear and advise others to do the same.
The breakfast was very good, the hotel's homemade oat croissant soft aromatherapy, full of praise. The accommodation environment is very quiet, I like this one very much!

Compared to the price of accommodation in oxford, this hotel was much more affordable at £55 on a Saturday night. It is quite a way out of Oxford, but the Park and Ride bus runs quite late, and the hotel is only five minutes away. Reception was friendly and efficient, and the reception are, on my quick visit, looked welcoming. The corridors seemed shabby, and had various smells as I progressed to Room 19, mainly of air-freshners. The room was disapponting, and for me, didn't come near to a basic Travelodge Room. The fittings are old, despite being an Executive Room. The shower is leaky, and neither the lights near the bed work properly, nor the tv remote. The room was cold at first, but it warmed after about an hour, once I put the heating on. The bed was fine - although the duvet is thin. The fittings were tired, and for some reason, there was a display fridge on the floor in the wardrobe area. The building seems to be constructed from chep materias, so the wooden floor boards above have significant movement. This was noticeable the following morning, when the guests above me had a very early start. In the end, I too had an early start. I was surprised by my experience. I'm not familiar with the Ramada brand, but the poor quality was definitely not what I expected. So, I've moved Ramada to my list of brands to avoid.
Staff went above and beyond, especially the lovely breakfast team and housekeeping. Got complimentary drinks vouchers, which was a nice tough. As a Diamond member, I got a free upgrade from a deluxe room to a junior suite and it was absolutely gorgeous. The room is huge, with the wardrobe in a small ‘cove’ with its own light, which I appreciated as I could get something out my bag late at night without disrupting my sleeping brother. Any issues were promptly resolved (a bit hard to get hold of the careline at times, but reception staff were super helpful) Really excellent shower. The hotel is a bit like a maze, so getting too/from rooms can be hard, but there is a lot of signage and lots of chairs throughout if you get lost on the way :) Well connected to highway. I was able to drop my brother to the nearby train station back to London. Couldn’t figure out how to get electric vehicle charger to work, but nearby service station had chargers. I’ll be in Oxford on and off, looking forward to staying - and making use of the health club next time hopefully :) Many thanks!
We stayed due to visiting family and to attend Bunk Fest in Wallingford town and the location was ideal as the bus stop was only a 10 min walk from the pub. There was a bit of an issue with our hotel room however the managment quickly resolved this mix up professionally and promptly, the rooms were well equipped and spacious, staff were very friendly and welcoming. The pub had a real comfortable and homely vibe to it and the food on the general menu looked great. The only one thing I had an issue with is that it wasn’t made apparent that breakfast is included with your stay so we didn’t actually realise this until our last night and after having visited the Waterfront Cafe that was not great so it was a shame we missed out on what was such a good breakfast for our full stay. The sausages and bacon were such good quality! We have booked again for next year so I would highly recommended a visit!
Lovely hotel in a beautiful location! The riverside setting makes for a lovely view! We stayed in a spacious suite and were accommodated with an extra bed with no problem at all. Decor is a little dated and the accommodation could have been a little cleaner however, the staff were wonderful and the breakfast was great!
We would stay here again, thank you for a lovely stay!

GGuest UserMy partner and I had a lovely stay at The George. Lovely dinner - good range on the menu including lots of alcohol free drink options. The bed was really comfortable and it was a lovely cozy room with great amenities.
Lovely location - Dorchester is beautiful! We loved the community farm just up the road with a lovely cafe and alpacas among others. Lovely countryside surrounding Dorchester and lovely cycle route to Oxford on the NCR5.
Thanks George Hotel for a lovely stay!
GGuest UserWe stayed at the Great House to celebrate a wedding anniversary and overall the hotel didn't disappoint. Check in was easy and our room was ready earlier than expected which is always a bonus. Our room was beautifully decorated with lovely touches such as pots of sweets, free water and some lovely classic touches such as the old phone. We had a river view room which is a bit of a stretch as you have to see over some rooftop vents to see it but that cant be helped and was very nice. The room was absolutely spotless and the bathroom in particular is very high spec which you would expect in a boutique hotel like this. The bathroom was incredibly hot but not a problem at all and a fan had been provided if it was or if the main room became too hot. We were woken up by a fire alarm which went on for about 15 seconds at about 9am and certainly was a bit of a shock and incredibly loud (which is a good thing in an alarm!) but wasn't ideal. The staff didn't mention anything but an apology would have been nice but we didn't raise it so maybe they weren't aware of the problem. The only other problem which we did raise was the service in the Coppa Club which is where breakfast is served. We ate there twice during our stay and both times encountered issues with service. We wouldn't have returned but felt obliged as Breakfast was included. Considering how lovely the hotel is and the service provided is superb it is a shame it is slightly tarnished by the next door restaurant. Overall would definitely recommend staying here and certainly didn't see any of the parties that some people complain about. Hopefully will be back soon.

GGuest UserThe talkhouse was a really homely accommodation right outside of Oxford. The room was exactly like the pictures. The staff were incredibly helpful and I must say the showers is probably one of the best I’ve had in the uk. (Proper water pressure, temperature and drainage so I’m not swimming in my own filth). Also have a drink or dinner at the pub, it’s seems to be a popular favourite amongst the locals as well. One thing to note for light sleepers, the rooms are side by side so you might hear your neighbours & it is right by the road so you’ll be able to hear vehicles at busier times.

GGuest UserCompared to the price of accommodation in oxford, this hotel was much more affordable at £55 on a Saturday night.
