It must be at least my fifth visit to this hotel. I've always had a pleasant stay, but unfortunately, the hotel section has gone downhill. Firsty the carpark is so damaged pot holes etc I damaged my car which is quite low. Check-in is in the pub and had to wait a long time to be seen. The room was clean. However, we were woken more than 7 times by a radiator in the room that would randomly grumble. Very loud indeed. If you got out of bed and tapped it, it stopped. Definitely needs looking at. The food in pub however was very nice indeed. However, a glass of processco should be a glass flute, in my opinion, and not half a flute?? When I questioned this, they said you only get 125ml

Very warm welcome on arrival. Clean room with the usual amenities, including bottled water. Beds are comfortable and supplied with 2 pillows, blackout curtains, so know light came in excellent. As a bigger than usual man did have a bit of a squeeze to get between the sink and the door handle(room 26). Breakfast was well worth the extra. If in the area again, we will definitely stay.

Needing somewhere to stay while attending a nearby equestrian event, we struck lucky with the Post House. It is a guest house in the small town of Ibstock and has about 6 rooms and private parking. The week before we had stayed in central London and paid more than twice the price for a much smaller and less comfortable room. There was great attention to detail with plentiful wardrobe space and towels for the en suite bathroom, tea and coffee making facilities with biscuits and even a bar of chocolate each! The choice at breakfast was superb, while our hostess made sure we were able to eat well even though we had to rush off early to the event. If we attend a competition in the area again, we know where to stay!
The hotel is a university hotel which is relatively close to the school. It takes about 30 minutes to walk to the town. The bed is comfortable and the sanitation is relatively clean. It is not very convenient. It can only be used in the hotel or the dining hall next to the hotel. Generally speaking, it is still Quite satisfactory.
The hotel is well located and easy to find. The ”self check in” was a bit of a farce - I was a number of people attending for a conference who all arrived a similar times. Each person I was behind had issues with the self check which had to be rectified by the assist who was over seeing all the terminals. My own check failed to recognise that the room had already been paid, so the error again had to be adjusted. The whole system would work a lot smoother if there was a just proper check in desk. The room was good with good modern facilities, although had the worst view I have ever encountered from a hotel room - I was on the first floor, but looked out onto a solid whitewashed wall which was about 1m away from the window. The dining room and bar were well decorated, staffed by very helpful and attentive members of the team and the food was very good.
