The staff in this hotel is what makes it so welcoming. They couldn’t do enough for you, with a smile on their face and great humour. Katie and staff at reception couldn’t help me more , between bus timetables and helping get the large group I was with sorted in their rooms. I had to catch a bus and was reluctant to eat in the hotel as I didn’t know how long it would take. When I mentioned this to the lovely Michelle ( the real life Michelle from Derry) she was on a mission to ensure I was fed before my travels to Belfast. I managed to have three courses in 30 min and made it for the bus satisfied and smiling the whole way thinking of what a truly lovely girl Michelle was. She made the experience even more delightful. I have to say the salted caramel sauce for dessert was truly superb , I wouldn’t be one for desserts but this was to die for. Keep doing what your doing Ladies, your lifting spirits more than you realise .
Our second stay in Bishops Gate and certainly didn’t disappoint.Smooth checkin and car taken to secure parking.Suitcase brought up to our room and coats hung up whilst we had a drink by the fire.Everything we needed in the beautiful room with bottled water, wine and chocolates! We had booked for 2 nights with 1 evening meal ,however the food was so good in the dining room we decided to dine there for the second evening.Another beautiful meal and breakfast was excellent. We we’re so glad that the hotel accommodated us for an extra night for a very reasonable rate which included breakfast, dinner, secure parking and 2 glasses of Prosecco.Whilst the hotel clearly deserves its 5 stars with its luxurious rooms and public areas it has a quiet relaxed atmosphere which we love. The jewel in the hotels crown is undoubtedly the staff. There’s no evidence of hierarchy as everyone works together and supports each other so well resulting in first class customer service, second to none. Thanks for another lovey stay and hope to see you all very soon.Brendan and Eleanor.Armagh
I have to say I have been going to Da Vincis for years, wasnt sure about the change, me just being over familiar with the norm, I have to say we went to the restaurant for our Sunday lunch last week, Leona and staff were amazing. Leona is a great front of house in the restaurant, very welcoming, very genuine and professional Yea teething problems but when u feel like nothings a problem and the service and food was amazing it just fell into place, when the staff make it their business to make u feel special and I’m sure that was carried out with all customers in the restaurant was great. Went to the bar and Les is an absolute diamond, breath of fresh air, I have to say the changes are good and very welcome, keep up the great transformation as I’m sure this is only the start of a new generation in da vincis.

As a couple with young kids who rarely get the chance to escape on our own it is absolutely wonderful to get the opportunity to stay here when we do. Having stayed in many stunning hotel over the years the Shipquay is one of our newer favourites. The hotel is welcoming and stylish. The staff are amazing, their friendliness towards guests and attention to detail is above par and was on this occassion also. We dined in the restaurant and the food was delicious & beautufuly presented. There's a nice cocktail menu too. Despite it being very busy that night our every whim was catered to. The little things like prosecco on arrival and treats in our room along with luxury robes & voya toiletries all make this hotel a very relaxing stay. The location is great. Parking though not available on sight is available easily nearby. We love this hotel and look to visit when we can. Bliss 😊
The Chamberlain House is one of the newest hotels in Londonderry, having been renovated in 2023. From the hotel, Eglinton Airport is just 15km away. There's plenty to do nearby, with St Eugene's Cathedral, Derry Girls Mural and Museum of Free Derry all within a short distance. This hotel makes a great place to kick back and relax after a long day of sightseeing. Guests of this Londonderry hotel can make use of the parking facilities.
We were made so welcome by William.
He gave us a map and highlighted where to go.He also recommended a lovely place to get evening dinner.
Everyone we met was so kind and helpful.
This is actually a BB, and the free parking lot is just on the side of the road. Open the house by yourself, the boss will email you the house number in advance, and then secretly pick up the key at the door. We just ran into the boss. He saw that we were bringing children. He said that the hotel’s policy does not allow children to be added. Children are counted as heads. Later, we were allowed to live. He said that this would not be the case in the future. He was still talkative and did not add any more. money. The bed in the room is relatively small, the toilet is relatively small, the standard English breakfast. Less than 10 minutes walk to the city center, not bad.
Lovely hotel lovely staff have stayed here a few times

GGuest UserBoth Thomas and his daughter Mary were the perfect hosts and made us both very welcome, nothing was too much trouble, really kind and lovely people. They even even had a facility to safely park our motorhome. Ample choice of items for breakfast freshly prepared which set us up for the day. The B&B is spotless with a lovely comfy bed and fluffy towels. Both Thomas and Mary shared interesting information about the history and gave us some good tips where to visit, eat and be entertained. We really enjoyed our stay and wouldn't hesitate to stay again THANKYOU Thomas and Mary. Not forgetting Daisy and Mary's beautiful baby
GGuest UserStayed in this hotel which is within walking distance of all the main attractions. Peace bridge and walls need to be visited. Overnight parking available close by and bus stop just outside hotel. Hotel staff are very helpful and friendly. Bedrooms are clean excellent bed. Shower is an added bonus non slip floor and walk in. Room is air conditioned and black out curtains. So a good night's sleep assured. Breakfast is self device buffet will not be hungry afterwards. We liked the free tea and coffee you make yourself and can sit in rhe comfortable seats watch the world go by also have a bar. We were very pleased with this hotel and have no hesitation in recommending
Booked Abbey B&B after being recommended by friend, have to say it was spot on , double room was ideal with en-suite with power shower, clean fresh bedding& very quiet. Breakfast was freshly cooked with as much tea & coffee as wanted Lovely sitting areas inside & out which was nice as we had perfect weather House was perfectly located to historical areas of Derry & 5 minute walk to town centre. Seamus ,Helen & Ellie were perfect hosts very welcoming and friendly Would I stay here again ? Only if they got nicer biscuits instead of those ginger snaps Mary & Gordon
GGuest UserNo 8 The Townhouse The location was central. Checking in was very easy through the use of a keypad. The room was very small and in need of decorating. The furnishings and bedding were very tired. The bathroom was clean but the quality of both the towels were substandard and badly frayed. There was no sink plug and the bath plug leaked. Basic tea and coffee supplies were available within the room but were not replenished during our stay. Our room was at the back of the property, and the pigeons in the derelict building behind were noisy and significantly impacted on our sleep. Breakfast was very basic - it would be a stretch to call it continental. Overall we were very disappointed with our stay and would not recommend this accommodation to others visiting Derry.
IIrisWe had a lovely stay. We went to a Motown show which was great. The room was lovely, everything we needed and the food and service was excellent. The receptionist on arrival was very welcoming. The pianist in the foyer was also a nice touch. Overall a very pleasant experience and we would stay again.
We booked here for one night at the last minute following a change of plans. The street on which the inn is located is not particularly promising. Fairly shabby and a busy road. Welcome was perfectly pleasant. Parking is available at a public car park nearby and is 50p per hour during working hours. It was quiet but on returning to the car the following morning, we discovered a huge pile of human excrement that a reveller from the previous evening had left behind the car. I won't share a photo! The inn was also fairly shabby and could really do with some TLC. Our room was large and at the front of the property so we faced the full blast from the road. Double glazing kept a lot of the noise out, but it was fairly noisy so choose a room at the back if this is a problem for you. Beds were comfortable and clean and bathroom was functional but again quite basic. Breakfast was fine. I has the full Irish breakfast and it was quickly served. Location is pretty good. You are very close to the river and a five minute walk across the bridge takes you to the centre of the City. We paid £89 for the night and that included breakfast. We were also advised by locals that the pub next door was not very welcoming so gave it a miss. Overall I wouldn't personally stay there again as it was a little too shabby for me to enjoy it but if you just wanted a well located place with parking and a decent bed, it would be OK. We also have to accept the challenges that lockdown has placed on small businesses so I can understand that it is not easy or cheap to keep places in tip top condition
Received a message from serendipity to say how they did food and fully stocked bar etc just the morning of the day we arrived yay. On arrival told bar is closed .. oh apparently staff shortage BUT the owner is there telling us this Okay 🤷🏼♂️ Booked a triple room and again-says triple and single bed but it was a SMALL double and a single BUT again no problem as we are family 🤷🏼♂️ Head out in to Derry,,, great place Next morning yay breakfast Head down and only offered continental ,,, nice selection but really !! Lady that showed us to the table said no cooked breakfast as it’s during the week and they only did cooked at the weekend 🤣 owner said sorry no chef .. what ?? But you could do it !! Nearly forgot.. says parking 👍 yes there is but it is pot luck as it is on a residential road 🤷🏼♂️ Would I stay here again or recommend this place … NO Plus point it is within an easy walking distance of the city. I don’t like to leave negative feedback but the owner made no effort and just said staff shortages and okay fair enough but how about putting it on the website or email so the customer knows what not to expect .
