Good standard large rooms

The location was lovely. The bedroom was clean and the he'd very comfortable. We had food in the restaurant which was nice too. They also had a good selection of beer on tap.

We stayed for 3 nights in a Privilege King Room. The room was a good size. The bed was very comfy; the duvet was slightly too warm. The TV was an impressive size. Wi-fi could be a lot better. The shower had good water pressure. The room came with empty bottles of conditioner and body lotion. We didn't use the swimming pool facilities, but they looked impressive. The bar was reasonably priced; 2 bottles of Rekorderlig for £8, cheaper than our local. Staff could do with a major attitude change. We mentioned to reception that we were missing items from the bathroom (conditioner and body lotion), and the receptionist told us that they would bring some up. They still didn't bring this, so we mentioned it again later on. We were advised that they had spoken with housekeeping, who had advised that they had refilled the bottles, which they hadn't. We ordered housekeeping for the following day, but they came late and were extremely rude. They didn't do much of what was needed. The floor wasn't hoovered, and the tea, coffee, and sugar were just thrown on the tray next to the kettle. The fire alarm went off early in the morning, and we were not advised of the alarm being tested. We were extremely unhappy about this, as it woke us up.

Where to begin with this one? Firstly i requested to cancel as i was coming down with COVID like symptoms. Ramada Telford seem to not mind that though, so that request was denied (no offer of another stay, or partial refund, nothing). Felt better day of, and decided to travel. On check-in (nor on the website, photo attached) i wasn't told anything about the pool being out of service. Turns out it was. No offer of a full or partial refund. Nothing. Luckily, Trip have stepped in with a good will gesture. Spoke to some people (named below) by email afterwards and basically told ”nothing they can do” and ”it's trip's fault” that the website didn't reflect that their pool had been out of action since DECEMBER. This is not a hotel, it's a sports centre with bedrooms. Difficult to find room and noisy. Bedroom clean and bathroom a bit small. Breakfast had a good selection.
