Went in for the Pub Quiz on Sunday. Lovely atmosphere and good afternoon's entertainment. Bar selection was a bit limited and steep in price. Only a larger on draft, no ales on tap although the bottles were from local breweries, no soft drinks on tap only bottles so expensive for the little capacity. Food choices very limited only a couple of choices of crisps. Selection of gin was very good, and very much enjoyed! Will we be back to support the quiz? Of course but could not afford every week.

Close to shopping mall, there is a very nice Chinese restaurant opposite. I will choose this one next time. The first floor that likes to drink is the bar.

The appearance of this homestay has forgotten to take pictures. It should be found in other commenters. This homestay is very close to Canterbury West Station. We have two oversized boxes, so we took a taxi to the hotel after leaving the station. 3-4 minutes paid 6.6 pounds 😄. The homestay is very good, the decoration is relatively new, the house is bright, and it is very clean. There are several staff and the service is better. We set a large room with breakfast. After we arrived, we were assigned a twin room with a large independent bathroom. The bed was about 1 meter wide, not wide, but the UK was like this. One thing worth mentioning: the time of the hotel check in here is generally after 3 pm, the time of check out is 10:30 the next morning, but we arrived at noon, went to the hotel early, the staff was also very enthusiastic to help us free the room, Still more humane. A very good stay experience, it is worth recommending to everyone.

The better place to compare the general facilities is that it is more convenient to travel in the city centre. It is also very convenient to get off the train station. The hotel is very poor. If you are unfortunate, your window is next to the street. There is a bar downstairs every night. Shouting

Stayed 4 nights - Great location - 10 min walk into Canterbury through a park or via road. Quiet at night and plenty of free parking. The room was clean , tidy and had everything needed, plus the beds and pillows were really comfortable . The staff were always pleasant and chatty, advising where to go or the best way, nothing was a problem at all for them. The food was good, we ate in the hotel 3 times and very happy with what we chose. The breakfasts were good and If cooked it was made to order so lovely and fresh. Couldn’t fault it…. Shame to leave!

Canterbury Cathedral Lodge is something of a hidden gem nestled in the grounds of the mighty Canterbury Cathedral. We stayed for the night after attending an evening event in the Cathedral (September 2024). The lodge is a bright, modern, spacious, beautiful building, almost Scandinavian in style with its pale oak wood and simple, clean lines. The entrance is via the cathedral’s main gate, walking past the outside of the cathedral into the courtyard garden that leads to the lodge’s reception. We had a room with a wonderful view of the cathedral - room 210 - which had a bay window allowing us great views of the cathedral and the garden. The room was comfortable and had all that you need for an overnight stay. One great advantage of this accommodation, over some other places to stay in Canterbury, is how quiet it was (except when to cathedral bell rang to announce services!). We chose to eat dinner in the lodge, and we’re pleased that we did. The three course set menu with choices for each course was terrific value at just £30. The quality of the food and the standard of the cooking couldn’t be faulted. Breakfast the following morning was equally good. Service was also very good at both meals. All the staff we encountered - in reception, the restaurant and the bar - were extremely polite and helpful. It all helped to add up to a very enjoyable stay and one which I know we’ll repeat.

Well, the house is very good, the room is very clean and very good, overall, the full score. Breakfast is not bad.

The location of this accommodation is perfect. Just 10-15 minutes walk from Canterbury West Train Station. There is a Sainsbury's local at the corner and the main street is just 2 minutes walk. The host is very nice and friendly. The room is clean, bed sheet and duvet smell good. For amenities, there are only hand wash and body wash, you have to bring your own stuffs. It's a good experience to stay in this accomodation.

Comfortable hotel right next to Canterbury Cathedral. Staff was fabulous, super helpful with info on parking and things to do (there are car parks nearby, and cost is £13 a day, and you have in and out privileges, paid through the hotel). Loses a star for poor WIFI signal... Breakfast was good - full English £9 or included continental with yougurt, toast, oatmeal, fruit. Room was clean and comfortable, if a little tricky to get to. As others said, this hotel is in a very old building, with lots of winding hallways and steps up and down. My husband is tall (6'4”) and smacked his head once or twice - his fault though, as it's clearly marked, lol. People with mobility issues might have difficulty staying here, due to the winding hallways and steps up and down. As for the WIFI. Our room (Amity) was in the back of the hotel, and it appeared there was a router in the lounge just outside our room, but it didn't really work. We had to go to the bar/lounge in the front of the hotel to get a signal. Not really a problem for us, but if you need to do any work while you're staying, you might have some trouble. We stayed right after the snap the election so had plenty to watch on TV in the room, as we are kind of political nerds, lol. Also should be noted that cell signal in many areas of Canterbury is bad - servers in restaurants commented on same. We used points to stay here, and point conversion came out to about $175 a night. We booked last minute though (day before arrival). However, call the hotel and see if they have better rates. I would have booked directly through the hotel, but only singles were showing up for our dates on their website, whereas a double was available through Chase Ultimate Rewards. I would probably stay here again, but would be wary of the poor WIFI.

The room just been done up but very small with small double size bed. Bathroom is good. We stayed for 2 nights. We told the manager that it is too hot in the room, no air conditioning or fan. He said there’s nothing he can do. So I told him we have to open the window, but it will be noisy so said it’s not his problem. I also informed him that the window latch is broken. He said he will get the maintenance fix it that day. But when we came back it’s still broken. Spoke to him again and it was full of excuses that maintenance didn’t came back and no one to fix it. So we Went back to a very hot room and my friend fix the window latch with a twissors so we can have some air. We also notice that the extractor fan was not working. My friend found the switch. Turned it on. Breakfast- no one to greet you. So we thought we can seat anywhere as there were 10 sets of empty table. We got our coffee and tea ourselves. When finally someone comes out from the kitchen he told us off as we should only seat on two seater’s. When most of the guest are only in two’s. There are so many of them in the kitchen no one made us feel welcome or we are quests.
