Stayed in an apartment in the hotel but on half board basis. The hotel is very nice with a large relaxing bar with comfy sofas and a log fire in one part. Drinks pricey though but so are all hotels. Staff very helpful and moved us to this hotel from Aigle du Montana as it was far from 4* (will review that hotel separately). Breakfast has extensive choice of hot, cold, pastries, cheese, meat, breads, juices. Dinner can be taken at 3 restaurants in the Montana area that are included in the half board option. Chaumiere is traditional fondu, pierrade, tartiflette etc and portions are large with desert after too ( 2 courses for half board and you won’t be hungry!). Chanterelles in the hotel itself is 5 courses every night with meat and fish choice for mains, soup followed by starter, large cheese buffet and then the equally large desert buffet - you won’t go hungry here either. Only criticism of Chanterelles is their service is a bit fast to eat 5 courses so could be slowed down a bit. La Place is the other restaurant and just pizzas and some fondu type things for half board - tried it one night and not great so wouldnt go back. There is a fourth restaurant, Gourmet, which you pay €15 extra for but we didn’t try that one. You have to book all restaurants in advance so we did this before arriving in Tignes. Would stay again but would prefer a room in the hotel which we think comes with access to the spa and open air heated pool.

You can't beat the location of this hotel for a ski holiday - ski-in/out right on the nursery slope, with many lifts in the immediate vicinity, a ski rental shop next door and a reasonable enough boot room. The breakfast was great and the staff were all so friendly and really, really helpful. 10/10 to every one of them! Just a word of warning about the 2-bedroom 'Village & Mountain Suite'. We travelled with two teenagers (15, 19) and it was not big enough for the four of us. If the kids were smaller, it may have worked, but the 'Village' bedroom is really a room for one person or a very intimate couple - it's small and, despite what it says in the write-up, the bed is a small double that cannot be separated into twins. The bathroom in that room consists of a sink and shower which is at the foot of the bed with no door and no curtain. We made up the sofa in the slightly larger 'Mountain' bedroom for our son, but that meant our room was so cramped we struggled to move around - and there really is not enough storage for two people, let alone three. Thankfully, the wonderful hotel manager was able to help us book a third room for one of our teens, which was the only way it could have worked. Anyway, think about that if you're travelling with older kids: you might be better just taking two normal rooms than taking this particular suite. All in all, though, a super pick for slopes access, great staff and lovely views.

The hotel has character, is clean, warm and spacious with sitting areas, logfire, bar,stunning views, a great restaurant and spa. It's just a short walk down some steps to the shops and ski slope. We stayed on the 4th floor, our room was lovely with a balcony, bathroom and separate toilet. It had everything you could want. The staff were amazing, so friendly and considerate, nothing was too much trouble. The food was fantastic. I've read some negative reviews about the food and wonder if these people ate at the same place i did? We were half board. Breakfast was a self-serve buffet with a selection of breads, cereals, yoghurts, cold meats, cheese, salad, pastries and sausage, bacon, eggs and hashbrowns. It was so filling, we skied all day and didn't need to stop for lunch! Evening meal changed daily, there was a choice between 2 starters and then a main course, if they didn't take your fancy there's a standard menu with a choice of 3 starters and 3 different mains. Desert is a selection of cakes. The portions don't look huge but were rich and filling, certainly don't leave feeling hungry! It's traditional Fench dishes so I guess if you are a pie and mash/fish and chips person maybe the food wouldn't be for you. Part of our half board package included eating at 3 other very local ”sister” hotels, we tried them all and found the food to be of an equally high standard, bookings need to be made through reception the night before, we had no problem getting a table on each occasion. The spa was clean and well maintained. There's a small outdoor pool, not really big enough to swim lengths but perfect for relaxing in and enjoying the views. Also a sauna and steam room which was just what I needed at the end of the day. You can book various massage treatments but we didn't so can't comment. We had a wonderful week, would highly recommend and 100% will be returning.
