Best Saint-Jouan-des-Guerets Hotels

Stayed over for one night and everything was more than satisfactory for the price we paid (online and in advance). Although situated on the edge of the village next to the main Rennes - St Malo road once inside the room you couldn't hear the noise with the windows shut (also windows had shutters), the motel style rooms had a separate door once you went through the main door so we found the room snug and warm. We liked the tea and coffee making facility and that the bathroom came with a bath and shower. Also liked that the fact that the parking was gated (gates closed at 23.00) and that the wifi worked well. Beds were very comfortable and we slept well. It was a short 8/9 minute to walk in to the centre of the pretty village.

Lovely clean and modern hotel with a very friendly and helpful receptionist. It feels very safe as you have a code to use to open your room door and also the lobby door and car park gates if it’s after 9pm. Plenty of parking spaces too. Bed was comfortable and bedding was good quality and everywhere was very clean. My only gripe was that the quilt only reaches the edges of the bed but as the bed is big you can move into the middle so it’s not too bad. The bathroom is small but perfectly adequate and the shower is very good. We were on floor 2 looking out at the next door hotel and it was very quiet all night. I had the window open but there is air conditioning should you want it. Breakfast was well organised and there was plenty of choice. Cereal, pastries, several types of bread and jams, yogurts, fruit compote pots and apples, cheeses too. There was scrambled eggs, bacon and sausages and also good, freshly ground coffee. I would imagine that it might be busy in the Summer months but fine for us in May. There is no bar but a vending machine with soft drinks etc. There are 3 places to eat nearby and with your booking invoice you can get a 10% discount on them all. We have eaten at the nearby Italian and Chinese restaurants and they are both excellent. The Chinese at 20€ for a help yourself buffet with superb food and plenty of choice is excellent value.

I have used this hotel for years. The reason? Because you cannot beat the value for money with the cleanliness, the facilities, the bed comfort and the staff attitude (who are there all night by the way, washing and ironing their own linen!) ..giving you a sense of security . Always helpful and friendly ..and they never fail in this. On the last occasion a special hello and thank you to Ivor who couldn’t have been kinder.

L’esprit manoir que nous recherchions est bien présent, quelques portes qui grincent, des parquets qui craquent, une décoration d’époque que nous avons bien apprécié. La literie de notre suite était excellente et la propreté irréprochable. Le buffet du petit déjeuner est également agréable et varié. L’accueil et le service sont discrets, et les conseils de restaurant des environs ont été les bienvenus. Le manoir et ses extérieurs sont authentiques et bien entretenus. Petit plus, notre petit chien a également été bien accueilli !

Great small hotel situated a stones throw from the ferry terminal. Very clean. Comfortable bed. Good shower. Everything we wanted. Great as a stopover. I wouldn’t go there for a holiday as it’s not really suited for that. Secure parking behind a barrier A warm welcome on arrival.
