Le Clos Limeray is an old farm turned into a lovely b&b, with a great English speaking owner, who is also an excellent chef! If it's offered, I highly recommend joining the host for his 3 course meal with apéro as well, all wines are included too. He prefers to make his food from scratch, with local and organic ingredients. The rooms are cosy, the view is stunning, and it's nice and quiet, in the middle of vineyards. We enjoyed visiting nearby Amboise, the Chateau de Clos Lucé was a hit for the whole family, as well as the 2 hour canoeing adventure. We will return to this beautiful gem!
Very good castle hotel, very comfortable from the castle to the garden. The hotel’s restaurant is a Michelin-starred restaurant, which can be booked the day we go, and it’s a great dinner. The facilities in the hotel are also very simple, which is a good place to enjoy. There are not many parking spaces inside, but there should be spare. If you are full, you should park outside the hotel. There is no elevator, so it is recommended that if the check-in time is relatively short, you can consider putting the box in the car and only take the necessary items into the hotel. Nothing else, it is really a great hotel. The garden has a secret forest path, which is very beautiful.
This hotel has a friendly helpful staff. If you have read the reviews, you know there is a restaurant on premise. The breakfast menu there is great (on par with most other Ibis and Mercure properties we have stayed at in France. The dinner menu is primarily Italian with one or two French offerings. Unlike some reviews I read, the Pizza is very good (like in Italy good). Here are some things you should know about this hotel. It is about 2.5 miles from Amboise in the middle of an industrial park! The hotel restaurant is your only option unless you walk 1.2 miles to McDonald’s or take a taxi into town (17 Euros one way) or ride the local bus route (.70 Euro one way). We found the local bus to be a viable option - ask at the front desk for the schedule. This hotel is pretty old compared to most Ibis hotels and was remodeled several years ago. The rooms are very small (per European standard) and are clean. The air conditioning does not work well. We were in two different rooms and with the air on lowest setting neither room would cool below 29 Centigrade. The outside temp while we were there was 19!!! We complained so they moved us to the second room with still no air conditioning. The front desk looked upset and suggested we turn off the air and open the window! This hotel and most other Ibis properties do not have window screens (invented in the 19th century to stop insect borne diseases). By morning, my wife and I were both covered with mosquito bites. You should also know that it is the policy of Ibis hotels in France to switch their systems from cooling to heating - no exceptions for guest comfort. We have been staying in Ibis and Mercure properties all over France so we know them well. We next went to a Mercure hotel in Saumur and it was lovely! The air worked well there.
We had a spacious room. A large heated pool, one side of which is also significantly deeper than usual. The pool has a nice view of the castle and nature. There was a self-service refrigerator with soft drinks by the pool (for a fee). The house had a spacious lounge with a piano and billiards. In the corridor there is a large display with hunting trophies. The house and interior could use some updating in several places, but overall the condition is still OK. Amboise city centre with its many attractions is a 10-minute drive away. There are several castles in the immediate vicinity that are worth visiting. Since all the customer service in the hotel was done by one person, he was busy with his activities and he didn't want to help with booking table in a restaurant, but we got a prepared leaflet from him with information on recommended restaurants in the area. However, the information was in French and it turned out that most of the restaurants were closed that day and in several places the understanding of English over the phone was poor. With the help of the administrator, at least those places that were closed on that day could have been excluded from this list, or the information would have been printed in English. There is no refrigerator or minibar in the room. Sometimes you could hear what was going on in the next room too well, especially everything that was happening in the bathroom (even just splashing water). The sun loungers are already starting to fall apart and the board around the pool is quite old - it springs and rattles under the foot of a heavier person. Two different navigation programs do not know the location of this place, only Google Map found it, so do the preliminary work with the exact location of the hotel in advance, so as not to worry unnecessarily on the road (where there may be no internet). When you turn off the main road, there is a sign with a sign for the hotel, but for some reason you don't notice it well. The mobile internet was very weak there, the hotel's own Wi-Fi was OK in the house, but there was no coverage by the pool. There is no catering apart from breakfast. Breakfast is baguette, croissant, fruit, unflavoured yogurt and jam. The coffee is served in a press pot, which is of course much better than instant coffee, but it is still short of proper machine coffee, and for those who are used to drinking cappuccino in the morning, its absence is disappointing. Apparently, according to the French standard, the choice of breakfast is OK, but in the north we are brought up with the knowledge that breakfast is the most important meal of the day and we don't eat sweets for breakfast. The pool opens (the cover on the pool is opened) in the morning at 11:40 (although, for example, the opening time is marked 08:00 on the Booking page) and check-out is no later than 11:30, that is, if you planned to use the pool in the morning before the cultural program or before check-out, it will not be possible. It was a

What an incredible gem in the loire valley. If you want a very beautiful chateau experience this is the place to be. We went during their shoulder season (November) and it was quiet and lovely. Although there weren’t many amenities open during this time we were treated really well and the owner Olivier provided us with transport options and dining recommendations in the area. The staff were so so nice and accommodating. Olivier shared some stories about the chateau and answered the million of questions we had with enthusiasm. We were exposed to the teams absolute passion for the property. The interior is stunning with a perfect blend of original fixings and new design. The rooms itself was simple with gorgeous views all around. The bathrooms were modern and everything was very clean and well kept. What a wonderful chateau experience!

This place is so quaint. I breakfast they were super attended if we wanted anything else besides what they had on the buffet Marina was super nice when we checked it. Our TV wasn’t working and she spent some time fixing it. The room was beautiful. The carpet is brand new. Everything was super clean, the location is great. You just walk to everything. Make sure to go to the Michelin restaurant that Marina recommended and their sister hotel. The food was really delicious. The shower wasn’t hot enough, but they adjusted the temperature. I think it’s a really cute and small château. I highly recommended.
