The room was very quiet and spacious.
Very practical for USB captures when you forget to take your charger (which was my case 🤭)
There are drinks and small snacks and a microwave, which is also practical.
2 small bemols :
- I had booked a room with 2 double beds and every count made there was 1 double bed, 1 mezzanine bed and 1 single bed.
- The shower apple was not a little sticky to stay in the middle of the shower.
In short, good stay in the whole, this will not prevent me from returning.

Je viens régulièrement pour le travail dans le secteur d'Angoulême et du coup, j'adore venir dans cet IBIS ou l'accueil est top et le petit dej aux petits oignons. l'accueil du personnel est vraiment très agréable et aux soins pour vous. L'emplacement vraiment impeccable restaurant à proximité et à pied. Je vous le recommande.

Très bel endroit où la quiétude est de mise. Chambre confortable et indépendante très appréciable lorsque l’on rentre tard…..dans un très bel ensemble rénové avec goût…Un petit déjeuner avec du thé en feuilles..et non du lipton…..du pain frais des fruits ….un environnement hors du temps …des échanges sympathiques avec le maître des lieux…...tout est réuni pour une halte des plus reposantes..

Honestly, when reading the reviews of others, I'm wondering how it is possible that I have such a different impression from this hotel. Not that this hotel was the worst experience of my life : obviously this is a hotel on the cheaper end of the market, but sometimes these type of hotels are still very new, clean, comfortable, isolated, modern... which is basically everything you cannot say about this hotel. The rooms, bathrooms, hallways etc are a bit dodgy to say the least. Again, if you don't mind, and if you don't mind that the shower is of the size and comfort of what you would find in a camper car, and if you only stay here for one night (like I did), at a budget price, this hotel might be OK for you. As far as I'm concerned, I had hotels that were a lot better, even in France, even of the same chain at prices that were not that much different than this one. For sure I will not come back to this hotel, unless I really have to.

We stayed for one night on a drive to southern Spain. The hotel was situated just 150 yards off the main highway. We walked into town and there wasn’t too much to see. There were no restaurants nearby so we ate dinner and breakfast at the hotel. The meal was basic, fine and good value. There are no curtains and the hotel has external roller blinds - unfortunately we only worked out how they operated just before we left. There no obvious sign but still our fault.

GGuest UserGreat welcome from a very knowledgeable host, combined with a masterclass cognac session.. Unfortunate not to get a room with the great views of the vineyards and unsure why this was the case as there appeared to be only one other couple staying. Our room was spacious and comfortable, although the stock photo and descriptions on the web site could lead to disappointment (no toiletries and no in room music/hifi) although this didn't affect our 1 night stay. Also unsure where the soft drink mini bar was located as indicated on the website. Website also needs to be updated as it has confusing information with regards what is included in the dinner option. For example Dinner within the website states: ”Dinner is served every day by reservation Adult The set menu includes 1 aperitif (choice between liquor of cognacs, cognac, pineau...) 3 dishes, local wine, coffee.” This is not the case. drinks are not included, and although it is mentioned on the tariff page it could missed and easily lead to disappointment and embarrassment at check out. The home cooked (with local ingredients) dinner in a stunning outside setting was lovely and tasty and knowledgeable conversation with Christine (who has fluent English) flowed as easy as the wine. Breakfast was a little disappointing during our stay and did not match reviews that we had previously read. It included a small breakfast roll, two confitures and butter. Fromage blanc (similar to yoghurt) and banana ( fruit option), although the Broyé du Poitou made up for a lack of croissants or pain au chocolate on offer during our stay. In summary, we enjoyed our day/evening combined with a cognac masterclass and tasting given by Christine's very knowledgeable husband. We would certainly consider returning if in the area again.

GGuest UserEnchanting layout: a castle just outside Cognac. Swimming-pool, nice external area where you can have your cup of champagne and have your meal at their restaurant (we had both). Excellent spa services are present. The lady at the desk was very friendly and efficient. Each room is unique in terms of design and colours. My room was extremely clean. A wonderful experience (even though I was on a business trip).

New addition to an existing ibis Styles on the same site. Separate building though, so you can't use the pool and breakfast is served separately for a fee. There is just one guy doing check-ins, assisting with housekeeping issues and serving breakfast in the morning (he was great though!). Reception is closed at night, you get a code instead of a key card for your room. This is a new-spec ibis budget with a proper bathroom, which is a great improvement. Extra bed is located in a small closet that can be pulled out if needed. There is no hair dryer in the bathroom, but you can ask for one at the front desk. Easy under 10 mins drive to the city center, free parking, a number of supermarkets around, as well a couple of bakeries.

GGuest UserIbis Cognac is a great example of a typical Ibis hotel. No frills , reasonably priced with everything we needed for an overnight stay on our road trip to Spain. The bed was comfortable, the facilities clean and the wifi was good. Breakfast offered a great selection and they even provided paper bags for people to take stuff away with them . It was well placed to explore Cognac. We didn’t visit any of the brandy producers but there several within a few minutes of the hotel. There is free parking in the public car park opposite the hotel. Special mention should be given to Lucy on reception who went out of her way to be helpful. Would definitely stay here again and recommend it.

A typical, old-style French hotel but with quirky decor in the public places. It has a fabulous location right at the top of Angoulême, at the beating heart of the eating and drinking quarter. Very friendly staff. Comfortable bed. Although there is parking at the hotel, there are not many spaces and it is hard to find. There are other carparks very close by at similar prices. The only reason for not giving it 5 stars was that the bathroom was so dimly lit that I found it hard to shave.
