Stayed one night. Conveniently located and reasonably quiet. The room was located on the second floor, but after getting off the elevator one had to walk down seven steps on a narrow winding staircase - very inconvenient with luggage. The room was very small but clean and nicely decorated. No electric kettle. Comfortable bed and pillows. Small desk area with enough power outlets. Bathroom with very small shower cabin. Good water pressure but absolutely zero shelf space in the shower - had to put toiletries, comb, etc on the floor. The shower floor was also quite slippery. Decent wifi. Breakfast with reasonable selection.

As members of a 24-strong Great Rail Journeys Group, my wife and myself are nearing the end of a 2 day stay at the Mercure Ajaccio Hotel. The property is located opposite the Port and a short walk (10 & 15 mins respectively) to both the Railway Station (our Group arrived from Calvi) and the town centre. There are also many bars, restaurants & supermarkets nearby but my advice Is to stick to the main roads when walking as it’s easy to lose one’s bearings in the side streets. The rooms are perfectly adequate - with all the usual amenities (I particularly liked the walk-in shower and plenty of hot water) and the staff most amendable This was very much so in the Breakfast area on the 2nd Floor - adjacent to the swimming pool - where tge 2 ladies could not have been more helpful. All in all, a most comfortable stay and I certainly would be happy to return.

Notre arrivée pour nos vacances a AJACCIO d'où nous avons séjourné a l'hôtel Campo Del Oro ,dès l'arrivée nous avons été très bien accueilli a la réception, une équipe accueillante a l'écoute, et qui vous renseigne et conseille bien. La chambre agréable, et a votre service afin de trouver toujours dont tout ce que vous aurez besoin. Nous étions en demi-pension, un petit déjeuner copieux ,il ne vous manqueras rien , si c'est le cas une équipe sympathique sera a a vos petit soins. En ce qui concerne le diner du soir une équipe réactive s'occupe de vous des votre arrivée, tout les jours vous aurez une suggestion du jour, ou menu a la carte, tout cela vous seras servie avec le sourire . Un Hôtel pour notre part très bien situé, avec un jolie environnement calme ,dont très certainement si nous revenons en CORSE nous reviendrons dans cet Hôtel avec grand plaisir. Spent two nights here on a Leger tour. The hotel is near the port in a busy, not particularly nice area. Being a solo traveller, I had a small single room. The room was very dated and tired looking and was next to the lift, so not much sleep. There was no fridge which was really needed in the heat for cold drinks the 'fridge' was an empty cupboard! The swimming pool was in the block next door and not very clean with a terrible amount of scum on the pool tiles, but there was plenty of seating around it. The breakfast was OK but the evening meal was not great. Drinks were a bit expensive and hit and miss with what you ordered to what you got. Staff were reasonably friendly. The location is a short bus ride to the old town which is very interesting and has a lovely beach. Would not be my choice as a holiday hotel, but OK for a night or two.

Leesa greeted us professionally on arrival, and provided us with Room 208; one of the historic rooms on the hotel. This generously-sized room had windows/doors opening onto a wrap around balcony so we had east-west AND north-south views. The bathroom also had doors that opened onto the balcony and all had outside shutters so the light an d privacy could be controlled. The room was spotlessly clean, and peaceful, restful and quiet. The bed was comfy, as were the pillows, and the linens were of good quality and expertly laundered. Parking is right on the street, and we had little trouble finding a spot within 50 feet of the door. That said, Leesa said I was lucky to find it. All in all this hotel provided an excellent value and the staff could not have been nicer. The area is great for walking so one we parked the car, we didn’t use it again u til we departed the hotel. There are many attractions bars, restaurants, shops and services within steps of the front door. There is even a proper barber on the same street, and I noticed a place for laundry on our sojourns. The area felt very safe and was well-lit in the evening. Two minimal disappointments and in fairness we didn’t discover them until it was too late to call the desk; -the heated towel rack in our room did not work, so a sink full of laundry didn’t dry overnight. It did dry on the east-west part of the balcony after the sun came up. - a lack of luggage racks in the room. One suit case went on the desk and the others were just on the floor. The wonderful and efficient Leesa also recommended and booked a table for us at Marinette, where we were treated to an excellent meal, prepared by the namesake’s grandson. Leesa also recommended an excellent knitwear designer’s clothing shop across the street, called Nine (pronounced Neene)

Right in the centre of Ajaccio - incredibly convenient. Very friendly staff. Able to leave our luggage before check in - we arrived quite early off the ferry. Breakfast had a good selection. Room had a really nice view over the sea - I think we paid extra for this and would recommend.
