Search Your Fuente De Hotels

We have stayed in a number of Paradors and they have all been really good. The one at Fuente De is no exception. From the pictures the hotel looked a little utilitarian and basic, but in reality this was not the case. In real life it looks fine and the interior furnishing is beautiful, with lovely woodwork, paintings and flooring throughout. The common areas are spacious and well appointed. Access to the guest rooms is via carpeted corridors and the rooms themselves are good in size, with adequate bathrooms. The bed was very comfortable and there was plenty of storage. The restaurant is quite spacious and the service was very efficient. We stayed at three different Paradores on consecutive nights. The menus were similar in all three, but the quality of the food was excellent and given the surroundings, quite reasonably priced. Throughout the hotel, the staff were all polite, cheerful and very helpful. Of course the Parador at Fuente De’s chief asset is its absolutely stunning position. In the heart of the Picos de Europa, it is a great base for exploring the area and additionally is a five minute walk from the cable car that takes you up to an elevation of 1823 metres in just a few minutes. From the top you can wander around taking in the sensational views. If the weather is clear this is a must do experience. I would whole-heartedly recommend staying at the Parador Fuente De. It is a lovely hotel in an incredible location. I would however add a couple of caveats. First, our visit was mid-September. The resort was very quiet and although it was a beautiful day, when I went up in the cable car at 2.00 pm, there were only three other people in the cab. I suspect that in July or August the whole place would be heaving with people, with very long waits for the cable car. Incidentally the hotel does have its own car park, which might be a real bonus on a busy day. Second, without good, clear weather the whole experience might be rather disappointing. There is little else to do up there and the nearest town Potes is about thirty minutes away by car. So my advice would be to try to go slightly out of season and check the weather forecast before making a booking.

Nice hotel. That said TV didn't work (not particularly bothered), and the bloody fire escape light over my bedroom door kept me awake all night, and what can I say about breakfast! 🙄 After eating two pieces of dry toast and drinking a coffee (I'm not a morning eater!) I placed a banana on the table in front of me that I planned to have later in the day, omg! The remnants of Stasi fruit police must have had me on video! The commandant of the breakfast dining hall, Frau Himbanana was straight over with a small printed sign saying no bananas must leave the room uneaten! 😱 Distressed and saddened, I left said banana that was immediately secreted into the commandants waitress pouch! I left the dining room showing signs of visible distress only to find that our group leader of a motorcycle tour, a man who only weighs 11.5 stone wringing wet, and had only himself had a tea and a small bowl of cornflakes, was stalked and caught red handed attempting to liberate a later morning banana himself! Several other people in the gulag archipelago were also, I'm sure, denied their mid morning snack! 🙄 Would stay again but would definitely travel with a spare banana! 🙂🍌🍌🍌

The first thing is thanks to the boss. We called for a meal on 15.15h... And without any problems acceptable menu proper service.. Good meat .... Russian and tail files.. To be of a quite rich menu.. So people complain ...!! Go to HOTEL OF THIS PUBLIC! ! ... AND FOR CERO UN.. white rugged for you to pass the throw food!! .. A greeting to hostel restaurant. peña sacra (Ojo). Cantabria!! ..
