GGuest UserEven after reading all the 5 star reviews we were still blown away with just how good it was to stay at this fabulous place. The house is in the centre of the lovely old village of Riocorvo. The village is very pretty and has a nice bar close to the river. The house is absolutely stunning, it has been sympathetically restored to an extremely high standard with all modern conveniences. The family owners are delightful attentive hosts. We had a lovely evening meal and the breakfast was excellent. We have stayed at many hotels and guest houses and this ranks as one of our best ever stays. We will definitely return and plan to spend longer in the area as it has much to offer. We did a short walk by the river and are keen to explore the area further. There is a path next to the river for walking & cycling which goes al the way to the sea at Saunces. It's an ideal stopping point for the Santander ferry away from the hustle and bustle of the main towns. There is free parking near the house.

GGuest UserBooked last minute online driving up Spain this was a golden find. Slightly difficult for the Sat Nav to find on a dark wet night. Parking is limited but adequate unless the hotel is packed. The staff were welcoming with an adequate grasp of English/French. The hotel is spotless and has a very charming character with asymmetric rustic furniture/decor throughout that unbelievably blends so well together.Bedrooms/bathrooms are comfortably adequate but definitely not high-tech. WiFi is free and a good speed.
The restaurant offers a limited selection of superb meals in the evenings (you would not want to eat elsewhere after sampling it), and breakfast has a fine and unlimited cold food selection, and a great help yourself coffee/late machine. You can buy great value wines with your meals but beer/lager was not available.
The hotel is in a quiet location and is dog friendly for small breeds. Well situated if waiting for ferry crossings (25 min drive)
I would 100% recommend the hotel as good value for money, extremely charming with food to die for, and would definitely book again if the need arises.

2 ★ Estancia desde 1 - 6 Marzo con el Imserso en Habitación 309...Después de leer tantas reseñas negativas ya me imaginaba lo peor.. Tengo que decir que mi experiencia fue de lo más agradable...para empezar la habitación sencilla pero con una cama y almohada que ni en mi casa duermo tan bien... La comida sólo puedo decir que excelente...variada y cocinada con productos de calidad y el cocinero un crack.. El personal súper amables y siempre ahí para ayudar... las chicas del comedor daba gusto ser siempre atentas...al igual que el chico te resolvía cualquier problema sin más... Es un Hotel situado alejado del pueblo pero en mi opinión un lugar tranquilo que es lo importante... Esta rodeado de lugares para visitar a pie.. Es un Hotel con un ambiente muy familiar y alegre... Solo puedo decir que me dio mucha pena despedirme del personal porque me hicieron sentirme apreciada... Muchas gracias por una estancia maravillosa...
