4.3/5
Excellent
Returned here after a year, and still really happy with the hotel. Easy to find (it can be seen from the autoroute). A typical ”roadstop” hotel, with a large truck park adjacent, but good covered car parking outside the hotel. Reception excellent, the room (same one as last time!) is huge, with excellent bathroom. Quiet. Did not use the restaurant this time. Stay here with confidence.
7769chriscWill stay again on our return journey. The pool & shady garden was lovely. With disabled pool lift & attendant Lucia. Nearby airport not a problem
GGuest UserArrived to find the external parking looking full and children running riot around the security guard at the front of the hotel. Check in was efficient and we took the underground parking option charged at €6. Our room was at the end of a long hot non air conditioned corridor. It was large, reasonably well appointed but no tea or coffee making and no USB charging sockets and seemed clean. There was a fridge. We went to the bar which was more like a budget cafeteria with basic plastic furniture than the bar of a 4 star hotel but the bar service was good. We enquired where dinner would be served and were told it would be in the bar! The menu ws a limited choice €18 menu del dia, considerably less value than we paid for an evening meal. It was not 4 star standard, not even close and the advertised inclusive drink was not served. The bed had a thick plastic sheet on top of the mattress that became very uncomfortable through the night. The breakfast buffet was of a very poor quality. Glad we only stayed for 1 night
GGuest UserThe reason for the trip was to eat in the Cañitas Maite restaurant, so we chose the hotel that was above that restaurant. It is a two-star hotel (or a pension I would say) but you are charged at a hotel price of 4 : we paid EUR 94, including breakfast, on a normal working day, was not weekend. I wouldn't write this review, if the price matches the service they give you, and yet with disabilities: the reception is like rural house, they are in the morning and then you enter and leave with key. The room is very comfortable and the room is very comfortable. There is no single room outside the room to be. Dust to pipes and a motor noise or something like that, all night. And I don't go into more details, that could, for not extending me. I felt misleaded, for that price you expect something much better. The hotel is very comfortable and very comfortable.
Hotel Blu is a modern hotel with easy access from the motorway and walking distance to city centre. I had a Deluxe double with just me in it, which was ok. I stayed an unusually long 7 nights , this hotel is predominately more transient with a lot of business coming from workers / business people who have to travel. The restaurant is on the ground floor and is staffed by very pleasant and friendly personnel. The menu was not to my taste and it has lost something in the intervening 9 years since I had a fabulous tapas lunch. However I was in Almansa to eat at other establishments so it was no big deal for me personally. The hotel has WiFi with open network protocol with range extenders, repeaters dotted around. I also had a smart TVI in my room which can act as a hub. So it should be a good signal, but it isn’t. Lots of drop out , unstable bandwidth which makes video calling all stutter and pixelation, not an ideal scenario for a business hotel. The shower over the bath was ok, small shower head, the bath though is an accident waiting to happen. The water is very soft and the bath very shiny, thus leading to a very slippery surface. I nearly went over in the bath before there was any soap used. It needs non slip mat. There are no tea/ coffee facilities in the room so it is a case of being dressed and trudging to the breakfast area or the restaurant. So no coffee in bed. Breakfast is a hot and cold extensive buffet and there is something for everyone. Coffee is good ( not as good as mine at home) for a hotel , in my experience most can not make coffee, period. I would stay here again and be satisfied, my negative comments are aimed at the hotel to get them to make more effort to be better.
