6602mpThe Leonardo at Heidelberg-Walldorf was a wonderful find in a pleasant location. (It’s the one on Roter Str., not the one nearer Heidelberg.) It has everything you need for a weekend stay or for FRA airport (90 mins away). You do need a car to get there but parking is free. The rooms are large and have a small fridge, a safe and air-conditioning. There’s a TV with many international channels. The wi-fi is good. I found the bed very comfortable. In summer there’s an outdoor pool, which has a shallow end and is very suitable for children. There’s also an indoor pool, which is 1.5m deep and has no shallow end. Children need to be closely supervised there. Near the indoor pool is a sauna. There’s a bar, which isn’t always open because of the lack of local staff. However, the restaurant will serve drinks. The staff in the restaurant are wonderful, especially the host and hostess, who take great care to make sure that all the customers are well served. Since the restaurant is very popular, dinner reservations are essential. Breakfast reservations are a good idea too. Ms Hrg on the front desk was extremely helpful with everything. I really can’t think of anything that this hotel lacks for a nice relaxed stay.
GGuest UserWe have stayed at this hotel several times. Despite booking well in advance, we were given a room facing the kitchen. As it was very hot, the exhaust fan was very loud when the window was open. After speaking to reception, the lady treated us professionally. Despite the hotel being fully booked because of a concert, we were given a quieter room. That's customer service, and that in a hotel with 330 beds!👍 The breakfast is extremely good and perfectly organized. Bravo to the management.
GGuest UserAfter entering the room, I found out that this is a leap-floor suite. There is a relatively large hall underneath, with the bathroom and kitchen below. Stepping up to the next floor is the bedroom. The space in the whole room is very large. There is free parking outside the hotel, and there are plenty of parking spaces - this is a hotel where customers and restaurants are integrated, and the room we live in is in the VILLA area. It can be rented at this price and it is great value. Of course, its location is best to drive past by yourself.
The decoration of the room has been around for a certain period of time, of course, this has no special impact on the experience of staying. Although I brought the kitchen, I don't know why there are no kitchen utensils. I arrived at the hotel very late. There is no restaurant to open the door. I want to make something to eat, but there are no kitchen utensils such as meal pots and plates. There are stoves and nothing can be done. I didn't want to understand this: it is better not to label the kitchen, since the label has the kitchen should bring the matching kitchenware together.
The hotel has no front desk staff after 8 pm. You need to go to the Access Code issued by the hotel to get the key and then find the room by yourself. There is no staff guide, it takes some time to find the room by yourself, this must be paid attention to.
GGuest UserWe (my kids and me) met a friend (also with a kid) at the hotel. Very functional and clean hotel. Very near the Miramar (thats why we choose it). The prices of the food in the restaurant are relatively high and there are no kids-menus (at least we didnt find any in the overview in the internet, that offered the menu). But the staff is very patient with the kids (we have to call them twice in two days because of a problem with the roomsafe, caused by my kids). And the roomservice-staff was also very kind.
Sinsheim is a small town (by German standards at least), and I guess not many hotels. Mostly this one seems to be enough though. Had very friendly and good service. Room was spacious and prices very reasonable, similar also for drinks in the lobby bar. Right next to downtown, and short walking distance to train station. Can even walk or take local train to technical museum. When you visit relief section in your room, your silky buttocks get to rest on some Villeroy&Boch too. My buttocks enjoyed the experience. On a hot summer, it can get pretty damn hot in the room though. Lobby has good air conditioning, and trip to the city is possible. Nights might be a bit sweaty is such case if you cannot cool it down. There is some form of portable airco device in the room, think it lacks in power a bit though. Breakfast was fine for the hotel and the price. Attached is a nice beergarden with a pizza/restaurant. Next door is another. Overall a great cost-value ratio, and very friendly service. Downtown location. Just might get sweaty in room during a hot summer.
GGuest UserWe are so disappointed. Don't be fooled by the offer and facilities you see online. We found the place soulless, which is such a shame, because it has hugh potential. I specifically chose this hotel because there were onsite facilities including a restaurant and bar. Neither were open on the day we checked in, apparently due to staff sickness!! So, I am expected to believe that only one person is tasked with running the kitchen, restaurant and bar! Umm! I am slightly cynical, to be honest. After a long drive we were looking forward to dinner and drinks. Our room was fine- very clean and comfortable ....but we could have had the same quality room for far less elsewhere. Breakfast was fine but again, I wouldn't pay for that again. The breakfast room was so deathly quiet, we wanted to eat breakfast and get out of there. No atmosphere. When you arrive at this hotel, you walk through a cloud of smoke, as the smoking area is directly infront of the front doors. What a welcome. I paid for the additional facilities but my meal that night was a bread roll from Lidl, up the road. I have waited almost two weeks for Leonardo to respond to my direct complaint via their chat service and I've heard nothing - I did give them the chance to address my complaint directly. More
GGuest UserThis hotel is located in an industrial area with good bus connections. Perfect as an overnight stay if you need an overnight stay on a longer trip. Parking is free and there are plenty of places (not fenced parking). Breakfast costs extra, is an ok breakfast buffet with basic items but lacks that little something extra. The service on site is good and the rooms are nice! No safe/minbar/coffee maker in the room, but still a fresh hotel at a good price. No hotel that you stay in for a long time unless you have a reason to be here such as, for example, that you work with SAP. You stay one night to go on a longer tour and don't have time for tourism. There is also two restaurants close to the hotel, one asian and one pizza/burger. Open late as well.
The first thing that greeted me when I arrived was a broken garage gate. That meant I had to park in the main part of the underground carpark and didn't have access to the lift. That was an issue to me because I have limited mobility. The rolls at breakfast were stale and some parts of the breakfast buffet looked unappetising. The rooms are only cleaned on request. It was the third day until a cleaner bothered cleaning my room. Also the hotel bar is closed. The only drinks available were in a rather expensive vending machine. The only bright spark was the staff at the check-in desk. They were friendly and helpful. Sad to say, the hotel has gone down hill a lot I won't be back.
IIrene WWe (3 adults) arrived at the hotel after 5:00, having travelled several hours by car from France, and the reception had closed. It was very difficult trying to get checked in. First, the phone number posted on the door was reported as unassigned; so I looked up my booking and fortunately there was a number provided that worked. Unfortunately the woman who answered did not speak English. Eventually she was able to connect someone who did. I was told to look for a “safe box” at the front door… assuming the “front” is on the street side where the Hotel Leo sign is. I got locked out when I tried to look for a lock box of some kind. With the interpreter still on the phone, I walked around to the back of the building again, circling along the driveway and parked cars to where I’d entered a door from the parking lot initially. It did not feel like the “front”. Eventually I found the lock boxes and got our keys to our rooms. Our first room was terrible, on the main floor between the maintenance storage rooms and the breakfast kitchen. We assumed it was a room specifically for people with dogs. Needless to say, it was very noisy at 6:00am. However, the Receptionist was very friendly, accommodating and spoke English very well. She put us into a room on the second floor, next to our son, so that he could help us with carrying our bags up and down the stairs, etc. The room was comfortable but the noise from the parking lot in the mornings was loud, with people checking out, trucks revving engines or just loud people going out for a cigarette. We’d hoped to be able to open our windows for fresh air, as there’s no air conditioning in the hotel, but the level of noise was too much. I’d think a room on the street side might be a bit less loud, but I don’t know… it’d have traffic. The hotel is fine for a quick overnight. We stayed 4 nights, but had no other option considering we were visiting people in Mühlhausen. I do give full kudos to the woman at the front desk… her job is not an easy one but she was very friendly.
