We stayed here as we were visiting Hessisch Oldendorf for the VW show, it’s quite close and an easy drive to get there in the mornings. We arrived very late on the Friday evening so the reception was closed, luckily one of our party spoke German so a quick phone call allowed us to get our keys from a locked security box at the side of the building. As we were late, they had sent us a text in German with instructions telling us how to get the keys. I didn’t get mine until I connected to the WiFi in the hotel as my phone provider from the U.K. was crap as usual. The room was very clean and functional, it was on the second floor. No tea and coffee facilities or a fridge in the room. There was a TV but I didn’t use it but there is a guide for the channels available. Towels were provided and the en-suite was very spacious and clean. Breakfast was plentiful, the dining area was very light, clean and modern. The staff in the hotel were very friendly and helpful. I visited our friends room on the first floor, the whole floor has been refurbished and it looks like the hotel is slowly being upgraded. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable stay in Hamelin. Parking in the street outside has to be paid for between 9am and 2pm, you can get a parking pass from the hotel to park in local car parks to avoid any tickets. The local church bells start ringing at 6am on the Saturday and at 7am on the Sunday.

Wir buchten eine Nacht im Doppelzimmer inkl. Frühstück im Hotel Stadt Hameln, da wir eine Comedy Veranstaltung in der gegenüberliegenden Rattenfängerhalle besuchten. Die Anreise/Check-In war unkompliziert und freundlich. Die Nacht in der Tiefgarage kostet 9,50€. Das Hotel besteht aus einem Hauptgebäude, in dem auch gefrühstückt wird und 3 weiteren Gebäuden in denen die Hotelzimmer liegen. Alles ist um einen kleinen Hof angelegt. Das Zimmer war etwas 'Altbacken' in der Einrichtung und roch etwas muffig. Dafür hatten wir einen schönen Blick auf die Weser. Das Bad war ebenfalls mit einem großen Fenster versehen. Die Betten waren leicht durchgelegen aber dennoch bequem. Die Bettwäsche war angenehm. In unserem Zimmer stand eine kleine Flasche Wasser mit Kronkorken. Dieser war bereits geöffnet und anschließend wieder auf die Flasche gedrückt worden. In der Flasche hatten sich Ablagerungen gebildet.. Worum es sich hierbei handelt möchte ich nicht wissen. Wir haben das Wasser natürlich nicht getrunken! Die Lage des Hotels ist wirklich super! Innerhalb einer Minute waren wir an der Rattenfängerhalle, eine Minute weiter befindet sich die Me Lounge direkt am Wasser. Dort genossen wir eine Kleinigkeit zu Essen und zu trinken. Das Frühstück am nächsten Morgen im Hotel war sehr gut. Es gab sämtliche Getränke, frische Brötchen, Brot und sogar Gebäck. Dazu leckeren Aufschnitt und sogar frisches Bircher Müsli. Wir sind wunderbar in den Tag gestartet. Beim Check-Out haben wir die geöffnete Flasche Wasser reklamiert und uns wurde sofort die Gebühr für die Tiefgarage erstattet. Das war wirklich sehr nett und zeigt einen super Service. Wir würden das Hotel jederzeit wieder buchen.

Beautiful structure, a step from the historical center, perfect in any way. The three stars are absolutely insufficient to describe the quality offered, from rooms (to be recommended if available with the room extension in the tower - a very special touch) to breakfast, from extreme cleaning to the care of every detail, to which is added a wonderful courtesy and availability of staff, who do not hesitate to meet the needs of the customers too superfluous, from a out-of-hour coffee to the reservation of the restaurant ... Good, The hotel is very comfortable and very comfortable. The three stars are absolutely insufficient to describe the quality offered, from the rooms (to be recommended, if available, the one with the extension of the sitting room in the tower - a really nice special touch) to the breakfast, from the extreme cleanliness to the attention to every detail, to which you add an exquisite courtesy and helpfulness of the staff, who do not hesitate to satisfy even the minor needs of the customers, from a after-hour coffee to the restaurant reservation ... Bravo, indeed very good: super-recommended.

The breakfast is good and rich, which is a typical German breakfast bar, bread cheese sausages, coffee yogurt cereals, fried eggs and boiled eggs, etc. However, German bread and cheese are really perfect and delicious! Suitable for children, the town has a population of 50,000, there are not many people on the street, and the scenery is beautiful. The hotel is not far from the city center. The elbow to eat is the best time in this trip to Germany! Also went to the Piper Museum! All in all good

We have just returned home to the U.K. after a 2 week touring holiday to Deutschland in our car. This was our second stay at the Schloss and for many wonderful reasons, this exquisite place will call us back and back again now. Their is a sense of history and tradition here. When you turn into the magnificent courtyard, you do feel rather special. We spent 6 nights here and could have spent many more as we were so comfortable and utterly entranced. After a superb breakfast each morning served in a lovely dining room by kind and charming folk, my wife and I always ” did a turn ” .....an English expression !.....in the lovely grounds and sat by the blossoming trees in peace and conten**ent. Our room in the Castle was lovely and we slept well in utter peace and quiet. We never heard another sound, either from outside in the grounds or from other guests. The Schloss is set in magnificent hills with views of farmland and forests. We drove out on some days to tour the countryside and travel the quiet roads of the Weserbergland. And finally the food. We dined either in the Bar or the Cellar Restaurant each evening and the menu and the service was first class. So, we thankyou dear Schlosshotel Muenchhausen for making our stay so memorable and we are already planning our dates to return in October.

The hotel owner is very nice, call him in advance, wait until 12 o'clock in the evening to wait for us to check in
