I enjoyed my stay at ibis Lugano Paradiso, however the breakfast selection was rather mediocre but in line with the ibis standard. I found that the hotel rates in Lugano dropped quite a bit in the couple days before my arrival but decided to keep my reservation at the ibis Lugano Paradiso due to it’s ideal location. However, given how accessible all of Lugano is, if I were to return I would consider staying elsewhere in the interest of value for money.

Out of the train station, you need to push the luggage to go uphill, walk 15-20min, very tiring. The hotel is built on the hillside and on the mountain, so Lobby is on the 2nd floor. And we booked the terrace room, in the PL floor, lawn, recliner, lake view, sunset... After all, it belongs to the Italian-speaking area, so the staff looks more like a passionate Italian. When checking in, there will be a welcoming welcome drink and a coupon to print the name of the occupant. We thought we would send it to the nearest Paradiso train station. No, the driver sent us directly to the more Lugano station, 20min, and went downhill. This hotel (197 CHF/night, excluding breakfast) is more suitable for leisure vacations. Sign up at the hotel front desk for activities: mountain climbing, culture and art. When you leave, go to Foxtown and sweep the goods.

The Hotel is situated in the middle of Paradiso Park, south of Logano, with a splendid view of the town and Lake Lugano. The rooms are nice and spacious with modern furniture and lighting management system, etc. The restaurants consist of a brasserie and a Michelin-level restaurant, which are handled by a service-minded and professional staff. The reception works fine and handles all our requests for boat trips, hiking, trains, and use of electric cars (Smart)/bikes that are a part of the hotel amenities without a separate charge. There is a big garage for cars beneath the hotel, which came in very handy upon our arrival from southern Frace as northern Italy suffered its worst hailstorm in centuries. We were very happy about the spa section, which we used several times.

The hotel is very good. The room is quite large, suitable for family travel, there are not many varieties of breakfast, but the taste is not bad. The hotel's swimming pool is quite suitable for children. The lake at the entrance of the hotel is beautiful, the scenery is very good, and it is very comfortable to go out for a walk. The only downside is that it is far from the famous attractions in Switzerland, and Grindwa and Interlaken are still much more beautiful.

The hotel is well-positioned on a quiet street, just 100 m from the Mount San Salvatore cable car and within easy walking distance from the Paradiso port on the Lugano lake. They seem to have a clever cooling system. Air conditioning works while you're out of the room and when the key is plugged in, it is you who control it. Rooms are clean but the walls are painted in ugly dark colors. Bathroom is efficient but not fully friendly. Breakfasts are decent but not more than that. Just one coffee machine installed in the dining hall. Sometimes you have to wait after 1-2 persons. Reception staff are friendly. The hotel is more geared to short stay business rather than for more demanding touristic stay.

Abbiamo soggiornato in questa struttura per la visita giornaliera del Lago di Lugano e complessivamente ci siamo trovati bene; ottimo parcheggio incluso sotterraneo, camera abbastanza piccola ma pulita e staff professionale. Buon rapporto qualità prezzo considerando che ci troviamo in terra svizzera. Non abbiamo usufruito della colazione. Rossano & Gioia

Disadvantages: Hotel facilities are old, rooms are very small, air conditioning is still bad! Hygienic did not look clean. After going out at 11 o'clock in the evening, I locked the door at the hotel door. I waited for more than 10 minutes by the doorbell. No one came! On our way to the Swiss Alps, we stayed here for 3 nights to enjoy Lugano. The restaurant attached to the hotel was very good, and the location was slightly out of town center (which was good) and the dock for ferry service was right down the street. The best was their concierge, Barbara - who got us free passes on local buses, and discounts on other attractions. She gave us great advise of lesser known things to do - and how to get around. All in all, a wonderful stay!

Beautiful hotel in a gorgeous location. The corner family room/suite was good size and comfortable enough for 4. The views from the balconies are mesmerizing. The room was clean and AC efficient on a hot July. Our room was ready even though we arrive a bit early and parking on the property was easy and convenient. Breakfast had many wonderful choices for everyone. Nice lounge to sit, have a few drinks and relax. Would stay here again.

Lugano's affordable hotel is very close to the center, the breakfast environment is good, there is a parking lot, and there are discounts at the restaurants next door.
