This hotel is a 20-minute drive from Lucerne, in the small town of Emenbrueke, quiet and fresh air. Breakfast is not bad. The back of the hotel is the restaurant with good pizza. After arriving at the hotel, ask them for a visitor's card travel card. For free, take the 2-way trolley bus to Lucerne Station in 20 minutes. It is convenient to take a free car. I didn't live before I saw someone commenting that there was an old man at the desk. I didn't smile. I touched it a few times and talked in English. He was barely English, but the conversation was good. He is a typical German man, not talkative, but people are very real. If you have just arrived, there will be a 2-way trolleybus 20 meters in front of the Lucerne station. After 10 stops, you will arrive at the terminal and get off at 200 meters to get to this hotel. Note that you can't cook noodles in the room, etc.

This hotel was an excellent overnight stop for us. Cocktails and grilled meat restaurant downstairs. Staff were very personable. Good breakfast. Handy then to drive into Lucerne. Overall good value for Switzerland.

Slept two nights in hotel Chärnsmatt, not knowing that it is also a ”playground”. So many stray children. However it was for now not disturbing. The hotel has a very friendly reception/bar (Rita Vogel) and an excellent breakfast. Room is functional with soft mattresses on a hard surface. So, perfect. Bathroom with bath and toilet (70's with beige tiles) are functional. However, the shower was poor. Only 1 suspension point at 100 cm height, so I had to use 1 hand to wash my hair. That is less comfortable. However, continuously hot water. The rooms are as always warm in Switzerland, so immediately switch off the heating and open the window. All in all, a fine hotel on the basis of P&K (P&Q) for temporary stay. Perhaps for families with children an eldorado, but that was not my intention.

All was correct in general but compared to other places of the same kind, this means that it arrives max. 21 h and departure max. 10 a.m. in the morning I feel very restricted when you are on the journey ... Very good place and very beautiful parking which unfortunately is charged $15.

Service: Super good. Since it is a long way down the stairs, there is a bell to inform customers to ring the bell and the hotel staff will help carry the luggage and send customers to the room to guide them to check in! Environment: Overlooking the view of Lake Lucerne Facilities: The bed and pillows in the room are very comfortable and soft

Added 23 euros at the counter to upgrade to a room with a balcony facing the river. Bed: The bedding is clean and hygienic, and the white quilt cover has a bumpy feel. It looks very pleasant to cover and is very comfortable. The mattress is firm and supportive, which is our favorite type; Bathroom: relatively large, with wet and dry separation in the shower, and the toilet is clean; Balcony: Go back to the room at night and sit on the balcony for a while, very comfortable and relaxing; Front desk: The service staff is friendly and able to coordinate according to some of our requirements; Overall very satisfied!

The room was clean and spacious and beds were decent. Breakfast is at Hotel de la Paix and has an excellent spread. Good choices available for vegetarians too. Location is great- walking distance to the station, lion monument and the Chapel bridge. Now coming to the not so great parts: 1) At the time of booking, I did not notice that the room has no air conditioning. Please check that before you book. Travelers from the US assume air conditioning is available everywhere. The room temperature was okay after left the window open (but that exposes you to the noise from the street below) 2) The bathroom exhaust did not work well. Not acceptable in my opinion. 3) The Hotel does not have anyone at the reception. The reception is at Hotel de la Paix which very close (apparantly the two hotels have a commmon management). This is a slight inconvenience

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel de la Paix. The room was comfortable but rather small. The staff were helpful. No tea/coffee in the room and no machine in public area. (I know it is not so common in Switzerland, but why not, when even the cheapest UK hotel can do it?)

The Staff was very friendly, one of them was Kevin (I Think), and also two other ladies also on the desk was very helpful in guiding us regarding our travel. We stayed for 3 days and the whole concept of the Hotel was different. We had an infant with us and wanted to change the room we were allotted and they readily agreed and luckily they had one bigger room with king size bed to accommodate them. The breakfast was regular and most importantly the staff being very nice and helpful, which has made an impression on us as this was the first time we traveled to this city. For the amount you pay for this Hotel in Lucerne, it's certainly very cheap for the services you get. It's based on a Theme so most of the rooms have bunker beds so even children would love it. Not much space inside the room or shelves to keep stuff. But then its a budget Hotel. Would stay again if I visit this city again. Its 8 minutes walk from the Station.
