4.7/5
Outstanding
I stayed 2 nights here in a 1 bedroom suite. The hotel was clean, front desk staff pleasant. Bed was comfortable. The decor was almost non existent. It had an almost institutional feel to it. Complimentary breakfast was not great. Poor selection/quality. No pastries. Choice of a packaged muffin, or cheap bread for toast. 3 types of sugar filled cereals, hot oatmeal, yogurt... as for hot food- soggy scrambled eggs, sausage, and potatoes. On the plus side for some, there is a pool and hot tub and the gym is small but decent.
Room 618, three nights The good: Perhaps the best Hampton Inn I've stayed in to date. Very clean, very quiet, super strong shower (with the handle in the right spot), very good front desk staff, WiFi worked flawlessly, very comfy bed, thermostat worked perfectly, plenty of charge slots, decent continental breakfast, next door restaurant (Gulfstream) was great. Parking near entrance, despite full occupancy. The bad: I didn't bring swimming shorts for the nice indoor pool. Parking fee at $10CAD per night, eh...not that bad, but shouldn't be. Overall I loved this hotel, will stay again next year on my next trip here
GGuest UserExtremely well set up. Everything organized and room was excellent. Helena clearly took greate pride in her work. It is always great when you show up at a location and everything is in place without any concerns. Will certainly stay here again.
BBobI almost didn't book here because it appears to be a 1950s motel with fresh paint. That would have been a huge mistake. The location is perfect for wandering downtown and the parks by the lake. The room was bright, colorful, and one of the cleanest ever. I couldn't stop being amazed by the updates and upgrades, and all the bright colors kept me smiling. The color matched vw bus in the lot defines the character. I will choose Hotel Zed again over any of the boring up-scale or traditional places to stay in Kelowna. It's different, fun, and a great place.
LLTDWe were greeted by the staff when we arrived. Check-in only took a few minutes. The room was superb. Big and spacious room. We had a king and queen rooms and both has their own toilet and bath. A spacious living room with fire place and a balcony overlooking the mountains and lake. The kitchen has everything you needed. I couldn’t ask for more. The hotel is fantastic.
CCrystal TThe rooms are large and updated, the beds are comfortable and the staff is great. So friendly and gave us extra items we needed i.e. towels, coffee, key cards and ducks :). There were 11 of us who stayed and they were able to accommodate us staying close to one another. We were prepared for the noise and all brought ear plugs. There is construction right behind the hotel and will be for a while, so prepare yourselves with ear plugs. The pool though.... It is NOT refreshing. It was about 27 degrees outside and the pool might as well have been soup. The temperature definitely needs dropped a few degrees. We enjoyed the 10% off at Ricky's across the parking lot and were really treated well by the wait staff there. There is also a Starbucks in the same parking lot for that extra kick of caffeine. Would 100% stay here again.
GGuest UserMy wife and I stayed here for four nights on our tour of western BC. I will start with the good points of this property. The location can't be beat; right on the lake and a short walk to the beach, many restaurants, shopping, etc. The grounds and common areas are really nice and well kept. Our room was very spacious and we had a nice view of the lake. Check in was quick and staff seemed very helpful. There is a little store on site with a Starbucks which was very handy. pricing was ridiculous in my opinion: $ 5 for a donut and $ 12 for a small fruit cup? As others have mentioned, parking is $ 30 / night which is a little steep for a small town (we paid less in downtown Vancouver) and the resort fee is a joke. You have to pay it whether you use the amenities or not, so for us, our $ 80 (four days at $ 20 / day) got us two free cans of beer and $ 20 off a very mediocre meal in the restaurant. I think they'd be far better off burying the $ 20.00 into the price of the room. The disappointments: air conditioner in our room was very loud, furnishing were a bit dated and showing some age and the wifi was slow; almost unusable at times. At nearly $ 2,600 for 4 nights, parking, taxes, resort fees and one sub-par meal included, everything about your stay should be exceptional. If back in Kelowna, we would definitely consider staying here again, based mainly on location.
GGuest UserThe room was recently renovated, and very well featured. The bedroom was nicely partitioned from the rest of the space, and had an excellent bed. The wifi internet connection was quick and consistent despite having multiple devices connected. The location is a little far from the waterfront, but central to the rest of the city and airport.
GGuest UserVery clean room, great staff, and excellent location for enjoying downtown. Indoor pool and hot tub were a nice break. The room had a mini fridge (for drinks and leftovers) and a microwave and single cup coffee maker (ask for extra coffee pouches). One side faces the main road through town and might be a little loud for some folks, the other side is on the alley (still a decent view). some rooms face the lake and the park. Parking cost $15 per night but is handy and fairly secure.
