I rarely go out of my way to write a review but have loved staying at this place so much (and am so surprised to read some of the negative reviews). I travelled with family so we booked two rooms. For a long weekend it was great value (elsewhere in Hobart, Richmond etc was much pricier). One of our rooms got upgraded to a premium so we had the lovely large verandah to enjoy the view and watch the animals and birds go by. The other was one of the smaller standard rooms, which had a smaller balcony with more limited views (but still great value for the price). The fixtures are quality and comfortable. The rooms themselves just have a pod machine and kettle with a selection of teas. The communal kitchenette has a microwave, toaster, kettle and fridge (plus crockery, cutlery, sink etc). You wouldn't be able to cook big meals there, but was absolutely fine for our purposes. We didn't get to try the restaurant - I really don't like eating out with my young kids - so the first night we just got takeaway from nearby Sorrell and the second night we ate picnic style with things we'd gathered during the day (including some of the fruit from the on-site orchard which we were allowed to pick for free). The playground adjacent to the restaurant was so great, my kids just loved it. But the real highlight was hand feeding the animals. You buy a bucket of feed from reception for $5, but it gets a whole lot of stock feed, kept the little ones busy for ages. They fed sheep, alpacas, a horse and pony plus ducks. We also spotted ducklings, chook with chickens, peacocks with babies and turkeys with babies. The first night we were lucky enough to have the whole pod to ourselves. The second night two more of the rooms were let, but we didn't hear them at all (unless you were in the hall very near the other room). I didn't find it an inconvenience to unload the bags then park 50m away - rather it made it feel safer for my kids to ride their bikes around as there was less traffic moving around near the accommodation. Will return again, that's for sure.
Facilities: Very convenient, 5 minutes' drive from the airport. It's okay to walk, it takes more than 20 minutes... but it's a dirt road, so it's best not to walk on it. There's not even a light at night, and the road at Hobart Airport is under construction (it's been under construction for 5 years and it hasn't been repaired yet).
Service: Many hotel front desks in Australia are not open 24 hours a day. After the front desk closed, the keys were placed in the mailbox. There are cameras. Just get your own key.
Health: Complete facilities, RV base. There is also a clothes drying rack at the door to dry clothes.
The Travellodge is a great place to stay as it close to the airport and a short drive to Sorell. The staff are friendly and the rooms are quite large, clean and tidy. Considering you are close to the airport and the main highway the rooms are lovely and quiet making your stay comfortable.

Richmond is really a treasure, the town is beautiful! There are many foods! This manor is also the most satisfying of our trip to Tadao, and adults and children feel particularly like it. The room is oversized, the sofa is super comfortable, and the main bathroom has to be 20 square meters. The children enjoyed playing hide-and-seek and would stay one more night before they left
The owner has a lot of animals, two horses, alpacas, three dogs and walking chickens. The mother dog Molly is particularly docile and likes to play with children, the puppy is called Bobby, and the three-foot grandma granny. The hall has a lot of historical ornaments, wooden lions, treasure chests and cherry mills.
The room has free wifi and will receive more warm email reminders from the host during the stay. Maybe the waiter is not as enthusiastic as in China, this is Tu'ao, it is ok to live happily.

I have started here twice and both times were pleasant. The first time the room was a bit small but had everything you need, the other the room was massive and very comfortable. The bar and restaurant has a nice vibe and the food is good. Well located to get to Richmond and surrounding sites.
The room where we stayed was spacious, clean and there was a nice little garden area out the back where you could sit down at a small table and chairs. The location was great, being walking distance to some of the best places. Very close to the historical Richmond Bridge and Gaol, and also close to the pub if you want a meal and a few drinks before you settle in for the night.
I am not used to writing negative reviews however I feel that things need to improve. Firstly the photos on the booking sites do not reflect the appearance of this cottage now. The outside is very untidy, the garden and lawn areas are dead. The outside table and chairs were dirty, BBQ was full of grease. The ashtray outside was full of cigarette butts. When first walking in, the chalet was spacious however very unkept. The small oven in the kitchen was not clean, there were crumbs on the floors and under the chairs obviously from previous guests. The shower had mould in it and the floor mats were unclean. It is advertised as complimentary breakfast which you find in a plastic tub with 4 slices of bread in the fridge in snap lock bags. We are not overly fussy people but this chalet needs a good clean. One positive was the host was lovely.
