I have stayed at The Quest in another location for work and was impressed. I thought I could trust that I would get the same quality accommodation at Newcastle and happy to state that I did. We had a lovely stay for Fathers Day weekend to go to the Knights NRL game and will definitely return. The 2 bedroom apartment had everything we needed and access to a locked up carpark was a bonus. Bed was amazing and very private room. I also had a swim in the pool which was lovely. Thankyou Quest Newcastle
The hotel is very close to the Newcastle train station, the transportation is very convenient, the rooms are clean, the kitchen utensils are all available, two adults and two children live in a two-bedroom suite, which is excellent value for money.
DO NOT BOOK HERE! AVOID!! we had a one night booking of a 3bed apartment for 5 adults as we were in town for a concert. We received a call the day of the booking to say that the room was unavailable due to the bathroom having been destroyed the night prior. We were offered a house instead. We arrived at the house where the manager requested us to pay in cash even though we had paid already. The house was dilapidated (bathroom didn’t work, windows were missing glass etc) & when I highlighted how innapropriate this accomodation was the manager of the hotel argued with me & refused to assist in finding another property. There was an event on so every hotel in Newcastle was booked out. We lucked out with a motel 30 minutes out of town. Rectification offered by the hotel was only provided after I called their head office multiple times. It was a refund & an apology that was basically that it was just a misunderstanding & it turns out the bathroom of the original room had been damaged WEEKS prior to the ordeal. Please do not risk the stress we experienced. BOOK SOMEWHERE ELSE.

My evening arrival was greeted by an unmade-up room, a free drink that could not be satisfied with a stout/dark ale or zero alcohol option nor the usual gold level welcome gift. On day 2 the room was serviced - that is a trash bin was emptied. Nothing else. Housekeeping was not seen again. Despite feedback two weeks ago about the rubberised scrambled eggs and poor clearing of dirty tables, nothing has changed. There are no side plates for toast or fruit servings. On the third day, in desperation, i asked for for a different type of egg - fried, poached, anything but overcooked scrambled and was told there would be an extra charge. No thanks, not this time or any time. I won't be back.
Had a lovely stay at the Mercure Newcastle. The place is centrally located for anyone travelling to Newcastle. It has a nice restaurant and very comfortable beds. The staff (esp Karen and Maddie) were very attentive. Highly recommended 👍
The whole hotel was clean, quiet, comfortable! Convenient location, easy access to restaurants, a lovely waterfront area. The staff was so helpful and positive. Frees breakfast was delicious and I can’t say that about most free breakfast. It was fresh, tasty, with good variety for everyone. We give this a 10 out of ten!
I had an incredible stay at this hotel! The room was spotless, modern, and had some really cool tech features. It was spacious and had a fantastic layout – much more than I expected for a hotel room. The staff were absolutely wonderful and made me feel genuinely welcome from the start. The reception team, the lounge bar staff, and even the cleaners were all so friendly and attentive. The hotel’s location is unbeatable: just a short walk to the promenade, which offers a beautiful stroll along the water, and surrounded by plenty of restaurants. It’s also conveniently close to a new shopping center, complete with supermarkets. The lounge bar and library were cozy spots to unwind and spend time. There was a small hiccup with my checkout time, but the staff handled it well, and it didn’t come close to affecting my stay. I’m already looking forward to my next visit and would recommend this hotel to anyone. If only I could take this place with me everywhere I go!

After a tiring day of touring and driving, my husband and I were exhausted and ready to check into our hotel, only to find out we accidentally booked it the day before. We were warmly greeted by Jane, who immediately went to work to change things and get us a room. Jane was not only adorable, but super friendly, happy and it was obvious she loves her job and the people she works with. She showed us to our room which was even nicer in person than the pictures. Would HIGHLY recommend this hotel.
