We went over Easter. On the whole (despite the weather) it was OK. Unfortunately this caravan park has large sites with you having to park your car in front of your caravan, this means that the other campers are very close to you and as a consequence you can hear everything they say or when their children get up at 6.00am in the morning. It is a lot better to have your car parked on the side as this at least provides a bit of a buffer to the noise. The amenities were generally clean however I don't think they were cleaned on Easter Monday. They were in a bit of a state and ran out of toilet paper in some of the toilets, which was surprising as a lot of people left on Sunday as the weather was quite bad. The bins weren't emptied over the weekend and they were overflowing. It has a pool but it is not heated which was also disappointing.
We had a lovely one night stay in the Seahorse 2 bedroom villa. It was perfect for our family of 4 (2 kids, ages 6 and 8). We loved being able to walk right out to the beach. The kids played for hours in the sand and the calm waters. We had dinner and breakfast at the restaurant and the food was good. The grounds are so well maintained and incredibly peaceful and beautiful. It’s only 5 minutes outside the town of Eden where there is the Killer Whale Museum, which we found fascinating. There are also several shops and cafes in town too. I would highly recommend a stay here!

We paid the most we have ever for a waterfront site around $76 per night. We stayed here a few years ago very peaceful. I would never pay for a waterfront site here again, as they have crammed as many cabins on the waterfront, and the front of our site was the car park for the cabin next door, and the main through fair for people walking to the beach. Because of the car parked there they had little choice than to walk right next to our site, annoying as we have a dog so dogs on leads literally on our site. Very little privacy and the van was parked in the direction we were advised. There was a huge group in the cabins playing football etc, directly in front of us, despite the balls etc frequently ending up on our site, they did not have the courtesy to move in front of the cabins they were staying in. I realize people are entitled to have there fun, but perhaps as some people are quite ignorant of others comfort, people should be reminded to be mindful of this. To be fair the receptionist spoke to the people next door about parking there car in a manner that did not obstruct our view. As the big 4 wheel drive was parked almost on the grass in front of the cabin. Unfortunately the person later came over and abused me for speaking to reception. It put a damper on our 3 day break here.
It’s great to travel by car from Sydney to Melbourne in the Pacific. The hotel along the way has a good view, complete facilities, clean and good service. Have a chance to come back later!
Room was large with 2 double beds, nice bathroom and a useful entry foyer. Was really quite nice. A small group of us arrived on motorcycles on a cool very wet day. We were met with a nice undercover level driveway to stop and proceed to checkin. Checkin seemed overly slow, with the clerk doing a lot of computer work before presenting me with the checkin document to sign. Of course this was accentuated to me as I was dripping wet and cold. I couldnt park anywhere near my room and the whole parking area slopes quite steeply. This meant that it was very difficult to park the bike in a stable place. The only near level area that I could see was in front of a storage shed, but cars were parked in front of it. The airconditioner in the room was located in the entryway, rather than the room, which seemed very odd. So it was not possible to operate for quick temperature adjustment. The most notable deficiency however was the shower which ran out of hot water within a few minutes. It seems that this motel uses a shared hot water service so late arrivers get cold showers.
This hotel is really a treat to stay at, although still a work in progress it is in excellent condition, the decor and furnishings are top quality and all the staff, of which there were lots on a quiet Sunday night, were all friendly and helpful. The included continental breakfast was very good with fresh fruit etc, not cheap but well worth it!
The room and bathroom is exceptionally clean and comfortable. But unfortunately the motel made a mistake by providing me a room for 1 person instead of (I booked) for 3 person. The office has been closed (6pm) when I arrived so I have no choice and some of us has to sleep on the floor. Management has apologised for the mistakes and promised to give me some refund. I am still waiting for the follow up.
I have read some of the reviews above (post stay), there is an element of truth to them. The rooms are small and they could benefit from some attention. For us we just needed a place to sleep and shower, and it served this purpose well. The room was quiet, dry and clean. The staff were very accomodating when we wanted to stay an extra day. The price was competitive compared with others in the area. Please note our TV was new and large.
The parking lot is free and the barbecue venue is free. The hotel is easy to find on the main road. It is recommended to stay for two nights. We went to Melbourne for one night and it was not enough. A kangaroo lives there, there is a children's playground, and the park is opposite. The door was hosted by the lady boss. The boss worked a small job and was a friendly couple.
