Himley House by Chef & Brewer Collection

Stayed for one night before a family funeral . Overall excellent. Friendly, very helpful staff. Good size room with great shower and comfortable bed. Great breakfast that is freshly cooked to order, not a buffet like most places. Would have got 5 stars only for one minor issue- only one bath towel provided in a double room. I'm sure we could have phoned down for another one but that shouldn't really be necessary. Wouldn't put me off returning.

8 of us Visited the refurbished restaurant after a country walk . We chose from the supper club menu which had a good choice of food . Our waiter Josh was friendly and helpful and served us very efficiently. Came to our table during the evening to check if we needed anything else. Our food came quite quickly fresh hot and delicious good portions . Our only comment would be the surprise of no Tomato Ketchup available ?

We went for lunch today and were met by an exceptionally friendly waiting staff. The hotel has been refurbished to a very high standard, retaining its original character. The restaurant is lovely and the outdoor areas are beautifully designed. We ordered from the “specials” menu. The hake was properly cooked accompanied by asparagus, tiny roast potatoes and all in a delicious light buttery sauce. I had the sticky toffee pudding….best I’ve ever tasted. We will definitely be visiting again.

Oh dear!!i will start with positive waitress's we had were lovely and service was good. we visited 3 weeks ago had a lovely meal-and i left a positive review. Last night however was like going to a different resurant. I would guess they have chaged the kitchen staff? We orderd off the specials menu-hake,and pork loin mains. As both meals were off the specials menu you would think as the title implied think they were a little more than the standard,but no. I had to send the first hake back-it had obviously been sitting on a hot plate being kept warm as it was hardish on bottom,and overall looked dry.the asparagus was so limp and unappealing,and the roast potatoes were overcooked and non existent. The replacement came and the hake was well cooked,but my husband had finished his meal so completely defeted us coming out for a meal together. The pork loin was at best average and was missing crispy bacon and gravy-and when asked waitress she said was it supposed to come with gravy?she returned wirh gravy and some time later with 2 rashes of bacon!! Overall we were extremely disappointed-particularly as its not cheap,and not sure if we will return for food unless they quickly improve

we ordered 2 roast beef Sunday dinners with a side of honey mustard chipolatas Beef was lovely- although wafer thin Roast potatoes were frozen potatoes, the green beans and Broccoli were still completely raw ( I love my veg crunchy- but both were completely raw ) and the honey mustard chipolatas were a bowl of normal sausages that had been microwaved- so no colour and no sauce Neither of us could eat any of this and mentioned it to the lady who collected the plates but no refund or discount was offered- will NOT be returning OR recommending this pub and will be telling all friends and family to steer well clear! I am really annoyed that no refund or part refund was offered- at the time, as we both told the girl it was inedible- and both plates were still full- the only thing I had eaten was 1 slice of beef and the Carrot and my husband had only eaten his beef, carrot and Yorkshire. I emailed them and they have the audacity to reply saying I have the incorrect hotel as they do not serve Sunday Lunch there - absolute joke!!

A little disappointed. The restaurant is beautiful but for me overly warm...the staff were reactive not active, had to flag somedone down several times for a drink. On arrival i tried to order a particular bottle of wine, hadn't got any. They had ran out of cauliflower cheese and ran out of the dessert I wanted., the potatoes were frozen too...there were lots of customers around us complaining which wasn't a good look.

Booked up and stayed over before a course for work. The food was superb and the drink options were brilliant. Completely upgraded since been taken over. I had the crispy squid which was lovely and the portion size was ideal for a starter. Then, I had the salmon which was recommended to me by the lovely curly haired waitress, Sam. It was sublime. I shall definitely be returning for the food alone but the service made it all the better.

Popped in for a meal around 7pm midweek after work. Starters came separately, carlic bread nice carlic mushrooms worst starter we had ever seen. No knives and forks had to ask, then had to get them ourselves. Mains came and were cold. Complained and they sent them back. Clearly just placed under hot plate/ light as mine came back and bun was almost toasted but meat inside still cold. Partners steak still cold. We left without eating or paying. Wife placed a review on here the same night, the next day a manager added to comments ( please contact them) she did so and no reply a week later. Guessing they just do that so I looks like they are revolving the issue. Used to go often as it's local but never again.

Lovely evening spent with fantastic friends, once our table was finally sorted. Food and service were wonderful yet again. The renovation has certainly transformed this lovely restaurant. Oliver was amazing, joined in the fun and nothing was too much trouble.
