I always stay at this hotel when I travel to Shropshire as it feels like a loving home. Diane has been welcoming me for many years now and each trip is a treat. Super central location in Church Stretton, lovely big rooms with comfy beds, a huge breakfast (delish!) and lovely staff. I stayed in the Osborne room this trip and I think she’s become my favourite. Nestled into the eves on the top floor, four poster king bed and a big bath to soak in.

Diane gave me the most incredible welcome, and Sarah a Full English breakfast the next day, despite the inconvenient timing and being an unexpected late / last-minute guest. This with the help of the very easy self checkin. As soon as I opened the door to Durbar, I felt at home, such was the coziness and attention to detail. After a wonderful hot shower (large shower stall) I fell into the super-comfy and warm bed. Victoria House was so comfortable and Sarah’s breakfasts so good and consequential that I extended my 2-night stay to 4. Plus, Victoria House is perfectly positioned in the center of quaint Church Stretton, across from a pub, within feet of breathtaking walks, the train station, and shops and a couple grocery stores (including post office). I will return to when I further explore the Shropshire Hills.

We spent one night here and thoroughly enjoyed it. We stayed in the Osborne room. The room was fantastic: beautifully decorated and clean. The room comes with free sherry and the tea provided is a great range (not just breakfast tea!). Bottles of the local spring water are also provided. The antique bed was very comfy, we had a great nights sleep. The room also had a little reading nook next to the window which had great views of the shropshire hills. The en-suite had a huge bath. Diane was happy to adapt breakfast to my dietary requirements (coeliac and veggie) and was very helpful. I was provided with gluten free cereal, toast and the biggest omlette, all very yummy. Local jams and honey were also provided. The Victoria hotel also has a fantastic green policy and the soaps and shampoos provided are environmentally friendly, which is always a bonus. The hotel is also a short walk from Carding Mill Valley so is great if you want to go walking. In short, the hotel was a little bit of luxury that we would definitely recommend!

A chance booking for my birthday, we were normally campers and had our teenage boys in tow. First surprise, its right in the middle of town, yes it is that beautiful Tudor tea shop and then we got a permit and parked in the car park across the road. Next came the immaculate decor, the complementary sherry, in a carafe no less, cozy bathrobes, I wish I had packed my slippers, pack yours, and, for the boys an en suite, and for us a private dressing room come shower room. The attention to detail is immaculate, pencil torches are provided, the TV volume set to a reasonable maximum, the boys settled in well with the free Hi-Fi and getting used to a more stylish standard of living, and that's before we get to breakfast! Try everything, well this is food-y country, it’s all so well sourced, prepared and presented. When you wake, you see that the hills overlook you on both sides and you can set off for Long Mynd from the churchyard next door. Also you keep the key, letting yourself in through the side gate so though you are part of the cutest tearoom ever, you come in your own entrance. Highly recommended and worth swapping the tent for. Thank you Diane.

There’s really no reason to write a review as the the title says it all. I highly recommend this B&B. It’s standard is very high, the breakfast is mwah perfect. I’m vegan and they provided a vegan breakfast, sausages, beans, mushrooms, tomatoes and toast (with vegan spread for your toast). You must try the Shropshire Brown (bread) at this B&B with your breakfast really nice. The breakfasts on both days perfectly cooked. Herbal teas and other lovely delights for breakfast on offer. Stayed in The Dunbar room (decorated with an Indian theme) all the rooms relate to Queen Victoria as the name of the B&B states. Lovely comfy bed and lovely powerful shower. Room was spotless clean. Staff very friendly and make you feel welcome and looked after. Quiet B&B as they only have a few rooms which I like. It’s located right on the high street so easy to locate and a great base. The pubs and eateries on the high street are all very good (all eateries I’ve been to offer vegan and Vegetarian options) Every where you look your surrounded by rolling hills. Some amazing walks to do in such a beautiful place. Victoria House as a garden as well so you can chill and eat in the garden should you so wish. Highly recommend this place and I will definitely stay again. The breakfast for me is the best in Church Stretton.

After a heavy xmas and suffering from the dreaded lurgy all week, We decided to stop off on our way home and stumbled across this charming place. We phoned up the guest house and was greeted very warmly by the host who advised us shed be there to meet us. Upon arrival she was very informative, helpful and friendly. The room we stayed in was Darbur right in the loft, it was beautiful! This is an ensuite room with a beautiful little shower room. We found everything delightful, from the decor to the drinks tray to the bedding and with a lovely little touch, fluffy dressing gowns! The breakfast was absolutely delicious. Best mushrooms I've tasted for breakfast! Everything cooked beautifully. This is one of the best b&bs I've been to and would quite happily come back. The town itself we also found superb, lots of choice for food and tonnes of Charminglittle pubs. All very friendly and cosey. Thank you for a wonderful stay! Matt and Claire :)

Booked a three night stay for a group from Boston Ramblers occupying all the rooms and was not disappointed! From the moment we arrived on the Friday, Diane made us more than welcome; choice of teas, coffee etc.and freshly baked scones on arrival. The accommodation is beautiful, with lots of character, with every convenience....liked the little extras such as sherry in decanters in the rooms, breakfast with lots of choice (the french toast, caramalised bananas and creme frais was a nice change from English). The guest is so convenient for all amenities and an ideal base for wonderful walks!....we will be back!!
