The room is clean l, but it is around the railway and the road, so not so quiet. Besides the quietness, the hotel is good for quick stay.

My husband and I were there for a concert at the Chula Vista Amphitheatre. We hoped to stay closer, but the closer we got the worse the hotels. Not knowing the area, we didn't want to chance it. I came across the Hercor hotel and looked pretty cool and had great reviews. I went with it. There were other concert goers staying here too, thinking the same as us probably. Anyhow we checked in as usual, girl at the front was very friend and professional. We get to our room and literally looked like someone just took a nap on the bed, desk chair pulled out, toilet paper in the toilet, and the roll messed up. Pretty bummed, but called downstairs right away and they gave us a new room. Much better. One thing I do want to rave about it the shower, loved it. Rain shower.

Hercor Hotel was one of the choices when I booked a package to visit San Diego. Upon reading the reviews, didn't know what to expect at first. Once I arrived and checked-in, what a pleasant surprise! The hotel is within 5 minute walk to the H Street transit center. With plenty of eateries around, a shopping mall and a 7-Eleven right next door. Although the room was smaller than usual, but it has all the amenities needed. Most importantly, CLEAN! Continental breakfast was good and fulfilling. Eggs, potatoes, bacons, toasts, mini bagels, coffee, tea, juices, cold cuts, cereals and more. Staffs are very friendly and helpful. Cecilia, Alejandra and Hugo always greet me and my husband with a smile and answered any questions we had. The Wifi was the best we've ever had in any hotels we've stayed before. There are plenty of parking for guests who have a car. Highly recommend Hercor to anyone who's coming for a visit, and we would definitely stay here again!

I made a reservation for two rooms via Booking for a trip with my parents and husband. Unfortunately, I mistakenly reserved one room with free cancellation and the other without. I realized this the next day and promptly contacted the hotel via Booking to see if they could waive the penalty, given that our trip was still more than a month away. I didn’t receive any response. I then sent an email through the address provided on their website, again with no reply. Frustrated, after waiting for their reply, I called the hotel and explained the situation, hoping they could show some flexibility since they had over a month to rebook the room. The manager I spoke with was EXTREMELY RUDE and refused to accommodate my request, saying that I booked the room over 15 days ago (of course, because before I was waiting for them to reply my messages and email). They wouldn’t even allow me to adjust the reservation by a day to match our itinerary. In the end, I decided to cancel my room with free cancellation and lost $168 CAD, because they said they couldn't avoid the penalty - even Booking saying the hotel could do that, if they wanted, and they woudn't need to pay any fee to Booking in this case. The experience left me feeling that this hotel cares more about profits than treating their guests with respect and understanding. Disappointing customer service, and I will never stay here.

I was a bit hesitant at first, but I grew to appreciate the hotel over the four night stay recently. The front desk staff are eager to accommodate and friendly, as are all the staff. So onto the specifics: Area: Loved Chula Vista! Felt safe walking around day or night, lots of amenities nearby (7-Eleven next door, mall, restaurants, AMC theatre within walking distance) and easy to get to off of the I-5. It's a hotel in a neighbourhood, so it felt more personable than perhaps a larger chain hotel in downtown San Diego. Room: 2106, facing away from the main road on the second floor, which made it nice and quiet (noisy neighbours in 2107 and above in 3106 aside!). Good storage space, clean, quiet and efficient A/C unit, good water pressure and temp. Bed was comfy, but might be a bit soft for some. A few minor points to note: the toilet seat needed tightening, the cable didn't seem to work (not a big deal, I had my books), and the bathroom sink backed up a few times the first few days, but this was rectified after mentioning it to the Front Desk. Housekeeping: overall, excellent. Extremely minor things were missed each day, but nothing worth calling out, and the ladies were lovely. Room was always clean and fresh, and happy to tip each day. Parking: a bit nervous parking in the exposed front lot, but no issues during our stay with any vehicle, including those parked in the back. Breakfast: Totally worth the $10! Scrambled eggs, bacon, and hash browns, cereal, coffee, tea, orange juice, etc. Was more than happy to tip each day. Staff: great! Everyone was friendly and happy to help, answer questions, and address concerns (like my noisy neighbours and plumbing events). Would definitely recommend if you're not fixated on being right in San Diego.

The staff service is excellent, especially Alva, who helped me with a reservation and solved my problem. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. An excellent place to stay and enjoy the city, the breakfast and the delicious coffee. Thank you for the hospitality. Walter Aug. 2024

Excellent service. Excellent pricing. Large spacious room. Clean. Just perfect. Staff was extra helpful. For me the most important thing about a hotel is clean, and air conditioning working. Both are met. Would definitely recommend. And would definitely stay here again.

This is a small "boutique" hotel that's very close to the H Street transit center - bus and trolley to downtown San Diego just a 25 minute ride. The room was small but had everything I needed. It was a bit dark - not much natural light. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom well-equipped. The shower was possibly the best I have ever had in a hotel - fantastic! It was cleaned daily. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There was free bottled water and cookies available to take out each morning. The buffet breakfast was $7.95 extra but was worth it and good value.
