A beautiful historic hotel in the heart of historic Christchurch. The hotel was exceptional; beautiful room and grounds, comfortable room, great breakfast and wonderful staff. If I come to Christchurch again this would be my first choice to stay.

Nicely located hotel, close to everything in CBD. It's in an old building, the rooms are on the small side, but clean and comfortable . Tea & coffee can be made in the kitchen area and taken to your room. A good continental breakfast was served in the morning. Car parking was good.

A very average hotel, similar to a B&B. There is nothing for breakfast. There is not even a hair dryer. It doesn’t work.

I was originally very happy to check in, but a young couple at the front desk felt that they could not receive us because we had children with us. I was grateful to them for their legal actions, and I was really speechless. The male front desk man later said that he could get a separate room for his children before they could check in, and the room price was very expensive. Does this mean you don’t accept children? We had no choice but to temporarily book another hotel and are still communicating with the agent about the refund. My husband and I were together for the winter holiday. We very much enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We can’t say enough the host or hospitable the premises were nicely appointed. It was located close to a beautiful botanical gardens as well as a beautiful college campus as well as stores and restaurants. We would highly recommend anyone who would stay in the area to stay at this place. Be aware that it is not a hot breakfast.
