We had an outstanding stop here on our Safari. The staff are on another level and the general manager was an example of how a manager should be managing people. We had shared dining experiences and the food was of a very good standard. Rooms very well appointed and are well maintained. The guides are very good, very knowledgeable and very helpful. The trips we did were wonderful and we saw Elephants galore, watching them cross the river was very emotional. All staff in this hotel are exceptional and I wouldn’t hesitate in staying here again.

We had a marvellous couple of nights at this lodge. Accommodation is excellent and, perched on the top of a hill, has stunning views down to the Chobe River and the masses of game. We were treated more like friends than guests by the wonderful staff. Our room was very comfortable with all the amenities we needed. The food was of the highest standard, and provided a great introduction to local cuisine. Our knowledgeable and friendly guide, KB, took us on some great day and night game drives along the edge of the Chobe river, the sight of a leopard up a tree guarding its kill was a highlight. The river boat trip takes you up close and personal with hippos, crocodiles and the many elephants that live in the park. The guides go out of their way to ensure you get the best animal experience, which is what safaris are all about. Highly recommended.

From the moment you arrive you feel right at home. The staff are warm and welcoming. The location is superb overlooking the Chobe River and flood plains. The entrance to Chobe National Park is only 10 minutes away. Once checked in you will be taken to your own private cottage which is fully equipped and you will want for nothing. Each and every member of staff is well trained and nothing is too difficult. The safari guides are brilliant and love to joke around. The chefs provide so much very tasty food which is difficult to turn down. Management run a very smooth operation. Everything just happens as it should. Chobe Park is a fantastic place to watch elephant, buffalo, giraffe, buck, lions, leopards, hippos and crocodiles. The bird life is prolific. Our fourth trip to Africa but our first to Botswana. We are truly impressed.

Muchenje Safari Lodge is the best in safety in the bush and safari experiences bar none!! The location on a hillside overlooking the Chobe river and the vast plains and animal herds below is breathtaking. Lips our safari guide is a natural at animal behavior and seeking outstanding and breathtaking animal adventures at sunrise and sunset. From elephants crossing the Chobe river to get to an island for grass feeding, to a lion family descending a hillside at night, to following a giraffe's stare to find Namibian lions crossing the Chobe to Botswana, he is relentless in providing the ultimate safari experiences beyond our wildest dreams. We will never forget his dedication to working very long hours daily and demonstrating his love of Botswana and the bush plus finding that illusive leopard hidden in the bush. My family and I were so fortunate to have him as our guide and to stay at the Muchenje Safari lodge with their gracious hosts and staff. Our outstanding trip of a lifetime thanks to them all.

What a charming place! The lodge is set on a hill overlooking a tributary of the Chobe River, with lovely views, especially at sunset. The dining, bar and sitting areas are comfortable and tastefully decorated. The rooms are clean and comfortable and not too far away from the main lodge. All have balconies with seating. The food selection was excellent and imaginative and the staff friendly and helpful. The lodge is a mile or two outside the park, at the very northern end, which restricts to some extent which parts of the park you can visit, but there is enough to see for a three- or four-night stay. They offer drives, a boat trip, and safari walks. Just a tip - don't let them rush you into doing activities every minute of the day - take a siesta and sit around by the pool or on the terrace to enjoy the ambience. Try the coffee cocktail!

Muchenje was exceptional! Whole staff makes you feel like family and enjoyed the community meals. Philli(sp?) was my guide and he was awesome! Great game drives experience in the evenings around the Chobe River and Chobe Natl Park in the mornings. Rambo and Tips were also really good to visit with! Entire staff was wonderful! Definitely worth coming here for at least a couple nights while in the Botswans, Zambia, Zimbabwe borders area. Wish I could have stayed longer.

The lodge prides itself on being welcoming and indeed from when you first arrive you feel like your home. The location is absolutely stunning with amazing views of the river from everywhere in the camp. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable with a special mention to GB our guide who was with us the whole time. We had some may great experiences with close encounters of so many animals and at no stage did we feel nervous. The accommodation was great, comfy bed and A/C if you needed it. The food was excellent and the chefs were very happy to cater for one of the group who required a gluten free meal, indeed they went out of there way to make great special treats for her.
