Checked into this hotel (spent 4 nights here) after spending 4 days at a more humble and further out of town hotel. No sooner had I checked in and strolled to the river bank (all of 20 metres away) I found my first rhino feeding without a care in the world some 100 metres away. It really did surprise me how placid this large beast was. I really enjoyed my time here and would regard the hotel as rustic, yet comfortable with the customer service being a standout. Some staff excelled, especially to the man who worked tirelessly at the restaurant from sunrise to well after sunset. The location is second to none. I had a room on the top floor which had extensive views over the river and well into the National Park. You will find some mixed reviews of this hotel however please keep in mind this is Nepal, a developing country with people just wanting to help you and give you every chance to experience their culture and most wonderful country. I would certainly recommend this hotel as a large room with ensuite and breakfast is very reasonable and certainly value for money.

Very good hotel/resort. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. very friendly and attentive staff, food is excellent and they were very accommodating and considerate towards our special requests /dietary restrictions. Hotel premises are lush green and very relaxing ambience. Hotel owner was around to personally check on all guests. The hotel arranged all our local activities including safari, which was quite convenient. A minor point is that floors in rooms were not very clean. Nevertheless, we had a good time during our stay there.

We stayed at this Resort in last week of March 2022. The property is clean, very good service, warm and friendly people. And efficiently manage the various safaris. Post Covid, they are still working with limited staff, but put in lot of effort. The rooms, pool, garden. Every thing is clean and well maintained. Wifi is pretty good Very pleasant stay with family. Located close to the market, and cultural centers.
Rainbow Safari Resort

Overall, the hotel was satisfactory considering the price. The service provided not only accommodation, but also various tours, bus arrangements, and meals. The friendly staff gave us lots of information about the tour and the local area. I took a bus to Souraha, but they also dropped me off at the bus stop, which was about a 20 minute walk. The room felt clean. There was no hot water, but it was a hot season so it wasn't a problem. If you pointed it out to the staff, they might have taken care of it. It had air conditioning. It's a few minutes walk from the downtown area, and it's a bit lonely at night, but I think it's tolerable.

If you’ve ever dreamed of paying way too much for a truly subpar experience, then boy, do I have the place for you. It’s like they took every overpriced, underwhelming tourist trap and perfected it. Let’s talk about the room. It’s got that authentic Nepali charm if by authentic, you mean mildew and musty. The bed was harder than a rock (and probably just as comfortable), the sheets were stained and had a charming shade of yellow, and the bathroom? Well, if you like the scent of mold and the thrill of never knowing if you’ll have hot water, you’ll be in heaven. But don’t worry, they’re charging premium rates for this one-of-a-kind experience. Now, the food. I didn’t realize a plate of bland rice and boiled vegetables could cost as much as an average meal in a decent restaurant back home. But sure, why not pay triple for food that tastes like it was cooked by a group of very disinterested people who’ve completely given up on flavor? I’m convinced that the kitchen staff believes spice is something you only read about in books. And let’s not forget the absolute genius business model they have going on. It’s impressive, really charge way too much for everything! Need a towel? Prepare for a small surcharge. Want to do an activity? Oh, they’ll be happy to charge you for that too, even though it’s about as authentic as a theme park ride. I’ve had cheaper experiences in European capitals, and that’s saying something. They seem to think ”village experience” means overcharging for the privilege of being completely underwhelmed. But the best part? The staff or as I like to call them, the magical invisible people. You’ll get all the attention of a forgotten sock in the laundry. Need something? Good luck, because they’re either completely absent or so disinterested that you’ll wonder if they’ve been trained by the art of indifference. So, if you’re looking for a truly authentic experience where you pay three times more than you should for mediocrity, this is your place! Otherwise, save your money and go somewhere where they actually respect your time, your wallet, and, you know, provide the kind of experience they’re charging you for. Trust me, you’ll thank me later.
