Had a lovely stay in this hotel. Room was nicely decorated. The bathroom was very nice, shower wasn't powerful but ok. Room and bathroom were both spotlessly clean. Paid extra for breakfast, which was good value. Both lunch and breakfast were delicious. Hotel bar and seating areas were also spotlessly clean. All of the staff were lovely. We will definitely stay there again.

I stayed at The Hand Hotel for just one night as I had an appointment near there the following day. The hotel was a former 17 century coaching Inn, it is an old building, and communal areas do need a little TLC. Good parking facilities at the rear. I booked a Deluxe King Room and was a little disappointed. The room was small but was nicely furnished, TV only worked intermittently, and the bathroom was very small, had to wait a long time for hot water. I had dinner in the restaurant on night to arrival, the menu was nice and food was fine, the young waitress was very friendly and did her job well. I left early the following morning before breakfast.

We were diverted here after another hotel messed up our booking. It’s a great location to stay and has parking. Rooms are basic but clean and comfortable. Staff are friendly, welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was great. Good value for money.

Stayed 14th Dec, got letter end of Jan 2025, issue date 21/1/25, saying I got a month to appeal or pay £60 or else £100. Been ringing daily at all times and no answer. Yet my friend booked out stay over the phone go figure. I live in Greater Manchester and was seriously going to pay them a visit. So stressed. Need evidence of stay only has bank statement. Read another review about same parking problem and they got told hotel would sort it. But nothing happened. So I got scared and paid today. Very angry. SO GET WRITTEN EVIDENCE DURING YOUR STAY. We had a good time with an ABBA tribute band that night. I guess they picked on us for parking too right!!!

Filthy! this place needs a good clean. behind the bar is vile, carpets stained, cutlery on tables need polishing, wine glasses filthy! such a shame because this place used to be lovely especially during the summer. they need a good manager go in and sort it out. staff looked uninterested and untidy need some good training and guidance. I believe the place has temporarily shut down, hopefully its getting a good clean and new management.

a lovely old hotel a short walk to the viaduct , they serve a great breakfast and helpful staff. safe parking round the back and near to all the shops . there are stairs up to the rooms which may not suit everyone but the building is from the 1700's so we can forgive that !

Staff very helpful and helped carry luggage upstairs. This is an 400 yr hotel so no elevators. Clean and good size double room. Nice restaurant and bar attached. Free parking and wifi. Chirk isn't a big place but used it as a stopover. Short evening walk to the aquaduct and walked through the dark tunnel using phone lights. A bit longer to the Castle. Good location for day trips to Shrewsbury etc.

Dirty. The bed was filthy (sheet, valance, mattress and base) and mattress broken. Carpets dirty, drain smell in a stuffy room. Mould in the bathroom, cobwebs in the corners. Owner considers this "minor issues" and said the drain smell was coming from outside. Odd as we couldn't smell it outside. Would not recommend.

This is an old coaching Inn and so everything is old and creaky. Our room was small but adequate and the bed was extremely comfortable. The decor is a little tired and the shower slightly grubby. There is a good range of coffee and tea and biscuits and milk. We had an adequate breakfast one morning in the spacious dining room which has been modernised but could make more of the garden views. Parking at the back is free so long as you register on arrival. Suggest walk round to the front door rather than entering through the door from the carpark. We were ignored for 5 minutes - not even an hello. They were perhaps busy but the bar we’d walked into wasn’t. When I wandered round and found some help elsewhere we met Javen who was very friendly and helpful. In summary an adequate place to stay
