Popped by for lunch without a reservation which wasn't an issue despite it being peak season during peak service! Staff were accomodating. Lovely food and drink. Grab a table in the conservatory if you can! Great ambience. You can probably find a parking space outside on the high street (if you're lucky).

Came for lunch...ordered (from a very promising menu) when we arrived...after 40 minutes with no activity at our table we asked and then learned that they had forgotten to put our food order in. We left, picked up a sandwich and soda at the food coop next door then enjoyed a pheasant picnic on the green

This was a lovely place to stay on a walking holiday. The bedrooms are a bit small, but the shower room was excellent. The breakfast was excellent and the staff could not have been more friendly or helpful. Although we were right on the Main Street the bedroom at the back of the building was quiet and peaceful. A plus point of being so centrally located is that there were plenty of nearby options for eating in the eating.

They say they close at 5:00 but we were here at 4:30 and they were closed. There was people inside so we knocked the door and they opened it and they said we only have one customer we don't want anymore. So please check on phone before going there.

What a delicious breakfast! I had the ham and cheese omelette and it was SO flavorful! Yummy thick pieces of toast and Earl Grey tea too! The staff was friendly and accommodating and the whole place had a lovely old English atmosphere. We’re going back tomorrow!

Our Nankin double was upstairs of the tearoom, with a fine view the Market Hall across High St. The room was simple, but comfortable and very clean. Though the town was very quiet at night, the odd vehicle at an odd hour was possible. White noise did the trick for our light sleeper. Parking in the rear was easy once navigated. Check-in and -out was in the tearoom. Breakfast was good, ordered off a menu. The village and nearby were super-charming without being overly touristy (like Broadway). Shops, pubs and a nice church all a pleasant stroll away.

We are local, so regularly visit Bantam, but today's level of service, or lack of means I'm not willing to give them my money anymore. This isn't to say anything bad about the food...it's always lush and they always have such an array of cakes in the window. The eldest waitress, I assume the manager or owner, really acts like she's put out by actually having to speak to customers and everything seems too much trouble for her. On a side note it would be nice since orders are taken at the table, that payment could also be done at the table. The Noel is much friendlier and Campden Coffee the food is amazing...I'll be visiting elsewhere in future.

Overall not the best experience. If you sit in the courtyard then you have to go back inside order and pay, and wait by the computer for someone to become available. Whilst perusing the menu, I asked the waitress what cakes are on available l, she said look yourself there by the window - there’s too many to say….. another trip back inside. Nothing extraordinary, nice cake but lacks the customer service and welcoming ambiance other tea rooms have. Disappointing.

We arrived at 10.30 on Saturday morning and asked for a seat in the outside area. We were advised that we would need to place our order indoors, pay and the coffees would be brought to us. After a 20 minute wait, we went inside and asked how much longer we would have to wait. They apparently had no record of our order and advised it would be prepared immediately. Some 30 minutes after our original order, the coffee arrived. No apology for the long wait and no interaction at all from the staff. Terrible service and can only wonder how much worse it gets when they are busy.
