Travelodge Hotel - Chippenham Leigh Delamere M4 Eastbound

One night stopover with family and 2 dogs. It’s it modern 5 star luxury? Of course not … it’s a travelodge at a motorway services. It IS a bit run down, tired, dated and basic etc …. But you DO get a big, clean and comfortable bed in a seemingly sound proof spacious room, clean fluffy towels, a hot shower a kettle and TV for a budget price. All receptionist staff we met were friendly and helpful. Extra tea and coffee supplies, toiletries, a hairdryer, iron … all available from reception if required. Lovely space outside for us to exercise the dogs, although there is an issue with litter in some areas there, that’s not the fault of the hotel. Would we stay here for a holiday? No. But as a one night stopover, or as a base for sleeping and showering for touring the local attractions, it’s ideal. A really good nights sleep in a very convenient location with friendly, helpful and welcoming staff …. Would absolutely stay here again.

This hotel was absolutely filthy. I complained to the assistant manager about our room & was given another room which was just as disgusting. I was exhausted after a very long drive so agreed to stay the night as I couldn't find anything last minute due to being a bank holiday. I didn't use the shower as it was so bad. I complained to Travelodge customer service who offered me an added extra on my next booking so I sent them the photos & they were only willing to pay me 50% back so I told them that I would post the photos on as many review sites that I can. I was told that this was an old hotel but there is absolutely no excuse for cleanliness.

Shocking. I arrived at 11pm with my toddler, i rang the bell and was asked if they could help me.....what do they think i was showing up for? Not only was there no sign for the sess pit but it was dark and uninviting. Stayed downstairs, 303 stank of cat pee. Not clean, shower was awful and no water pressure. There were towels at least which were sort of clean. Paid for breakfast to go and didn't get it. Called the hotel before my arrival 3 times and no answer. Left the hotel at 9am and no one at the desk either. No refund for the breakfast and so much issue trying to contact them that they can keep the tenner they are in desperate need of it Awful place. East is better but not by much. Avoid

Not for me Unclean carpet. Very old smell and damp Difficult to find due to the postcode is shared between two locations Couldn’t lower temperature of shower Soap dispenser damages or empty

Absolutely worst ever travellodge ever stayed.. smells. Looks derelict on appoach . Room.tured and grubby. Sheets and pillowcases stained. Bathroom.do grubby I wanted till arrived at family's..

On arrival we were met by an unpleasant man who looked very scruffy and were surprised that he was front of house. There was no smile or friendly welcome. We felt we had inconvenienced the staff. The reception area had a very repulsive odour. It wasn't clean. The floor looked disgusting and had a lot of dust along the skirting boards. We were given a key to access the room but were not given a fob to access the main door on our return. It was frustrating not being able to enter our room whilst desperately requiring use of a toilet. It’s the worst hotel I've stayed at quite frankly.
