Que serait Chinon sans Maurice, l’hôte du Relais éponyme ? Il en fait en tous cas son sel et son charme. Maison ancienne qui ne cesse de surprendre au moindre détour, le petit-déjeuner personnalisé vaut le détour à lui tout seul. Quant à Maurice, plus qu’une âme du lieu : une personnalité, généreuse dans sa volonté de faire vivre une expérience unique, partager ses délicieuses spécialités, révéler ses recettes « signatures » et ses secrets ! Nous recommandons !

This was our third visit to this beautiful medieval house and we still think it's one of the best places we have stayed in in France. We have stayed in three different rooms, Claude this time, and they are all very spacious, wonderfully furnished with huge bathrooms. As ever, the breakfast is magnificent, with a huge array of meats, cheeses, smoked salmon, breads, home made cakes and pastries, crepes and more. An innovation this year was scrambled eggs and sausages. Maurice is a wonderful, friendly, cheerful host, who apart from some help cleaning the rooms, appears to run the place single handed. A real labour of love. It is also wonderfully located in a picturesque street, a short walk from all the attractions and fine restaurants in Chinon. We'll be back!

Clairement une des meilleures chambres d'hôtes que nous ayons réservé ( si ce n'est la meilleure !). Absolument tout est pensé pour le confort des hôtes. Petit déjeuner exceptionnel avec un choix digne d'un très grand hôtel. La bâtisse en elle même est un chef d'oeuvre architectural, avec un emplacement idéal. Le propriétaire est très à l'écoute et se plie en 4 pour notre bien être. Tout est parfait, allez y les yeux fermés. Bref, ne passez pas à côté si vous séjournez à Chinon !

Nous étions 6 couples d’amis à avoir le privilège ce week-end de séjourner chez Maurice, un hôte adorable, passionné par son métier , toujours soucieux de notre bien être . Que dire du petit déjeuner fait maison : tout simplement extraordinaire. Cette belle demeure est chaleureuse, décorée avec beaucoup de goût et on s’y sent comme à la maison . Fantástico. Sin duda este pequeño hotel está construido con un gusto y un cuidado de los detalles excepcionales. Las habitaciones son muy amplias y el baño moderno y muy funcional. Además Maurice está pendiente de todos los detalles. Excepcional sin duda. Yo repetiría sin dudarlo. Además está cerca de las diferentes castillos del Loira.

Maurice ist sehr freundlich und auskunftsbereit. Frühstück und Lage in Chinon sehr gut. Die Zimmer sind groß, geschmackvoll eingerichtet und die Betten sind sehr gut. Getränke stehen im Kühlschrank jederzeit zur Verfügung. Wir würden wieder kommen.

An absolute gem. The rooms are gorgeous, the breakfast is unbelievable and the host is an absolute treat. Great location. Complete luxury for a bargain price. Our only complaint is we only booked one night so looking to rectify that next year. Absolutely amazing place that puts all other b&bs I’ve stayed in to shame.
