The staff's response was good as it seems to be a high-class long-established inn. If you arrive by car, the staff will carry your car to the parking lot, so be careful if you are concerned. When you arrive, your luggage will be taken to your room. The staff will guide you to your room. After a general explanation, a female staff member came and served Japanese sweets and matcha green tea. I was satisfied not cheap taste. The room is not new and has some old parts, but it is very clean. There was also an armrest and I was able to spend it very comfortably. What's more, at Sasaya Hotel, you can soak in the hot springs in all rooms, not just the rooms with open-air baths. Towels are provided in the public bath, so there is no need to bring them from your room. The dressing room was also kept clean. There are lockers. On the day of our visit, we took a stone bath. There aren't many washrooms, but the day I stayed was a weekday, so I had plenty of time. The indoor bath is hot in front and slightly hot in the back. I don't really get the smell of sulfur. The open-air bath has three stages, and if you go to the back, it will be the right temperature. I thought that the freshness would deteriorate as I went deeper, but I thought that this was a good consideration because the hot springs also flowed from the back. You can smell the sulfur in the open air. The next day is a wooden bath. I think the indoor bath is made of stone. The open-air bath is made of wood and has two barrel baths. From my experience, the temperature of the hot springs in winter mornings is often set high, but at Sasaya Hotel, the temperature is set to an appropriate temperature, and I can tell that the hot water is properly adjusted. Dinner is Chinese full course. I'm tired of eating Japanese food at the inn, so I chose Chinese food, which I rarely eat. I've never been to a Chinese restaurant other than a gyoza restaurant, and I'm not the kind of person who actively eats Chinese food at home, so please take my impressions as an amateur. There is a table that rotates like a Chinese restaurant and it is a full course, so you don't have to suddenly line up all the dishes. Some of the dishes were spicy, while others were served with rice. It was a really satisfying dish, with the shrimp of shrimp chili itself being large, the shark's fin soup responding to eating, and the almond tofu not knowing the taste, but delicious. The breakfast wasn't particularly delicious, but I think it's a notch higher than other inns. I felt that the price was a little high, but considering the quality of the accommodation, it was satisfactory. Unfortunately this time, I forgot to visit the registered tangible cultural property, Hounenbu. This was my only regret.

I made a reservation because I wanted to spend a special time to commemorate my birthday. My hobby is searching for hotels, so I researched for several weeks and finally chose this place by intuition. I was looking for real luxury and tranquility without the glamour, and it met my needs perfectly. We stayed in a room called Hounenmushi no Ayame. It was the end of summer, so there weren't many people, so I was able to relax in the room, have tea in the lobby, soak in the open-air bath, and wash my life. (I also used the bar, but it was reasonable and delicious) Mr. Miyashita was very helpful. My job is similar to the service industry, so I wanted to model it as a professional customer service. We were with children, but we were impressed with the attention to detail. The dinner on the first night was Japanese and the dinner on the second night was Chinese, both of which were very good. According to the person who drove the return shuttle bus (young man?), the soba restaurant near Togura Station was the predecessor of Sasaya Hotel. Next time I would like to use the soba restaurant. As a point of caution, there are many cases where Hounenmushi seems to have no vacancies on the internet, but in fact it is still possible to make a reservation. I think it would be better to call or email the inn directly to make a reservation.
