Hotel Riu Chiclana - All Inclusive

The staff at the pool bar and swim up bar ignored us, repeatedly and served the Spanish guests first - even waving them over despite seeing us. It was really upsetting to be treated this way. The entertainment and activities are primarily in Spanish, meaning non-Spanish speaking guests don’t understand it. I’ve stayed at other all inclusive where multiple languages are used so that everybody feels included. Lots of wasps they’d come over when we were outside - drinking or sunbathing and were quite persistent in trying to get on us or our drinks. Very loud resort. Food was ok but repetitive and the Italian and Andulucian restaurants were nothing special and seemed to be very similar to the food at the buffet.

We had quite a mixed experience during our stay. Upon arrival, we had to wait two hours for our rooms, which wasn’t the best start to our holiday. Cleanliness around the hotel was great, but unfortunately, our room didn’t live up to the same standard. It was not as fancy as the photos online, and we even found some bugs, which was disappointing. Bedding was hard and stained, and the room wasn't designed with comfort in mind. The hotel has great drink stations conveniently placed, and while the food was decent, the selection was very basic and repetitive. By the third day, we were a bit bored with the choices. The Italian restaurant was a standout, though — definitely the best food we had during our stay. The staff, particularly at the bar, seemed rude and uninterested, with the exception of the reception team. On top of that, it felt like Spanish guests were receiving better treatment, and we weren't the only ones who noticed this — other British guests mentioned the same thing. The location next to the beach is fantastic, but there’s not much to do outside the hotel. The resort itself is very busy, and although you can always find a sunbed, it never feels like a peaceful escape. There’s no quiet chill area; there’s always loud music playing around the pools, and the evening entertainment doesn’t stop until midnight. Depending on where your room is, you might hear everything from the show — not ideal if you’re looking for some rest. The resort is great for children, with lots of activities such as soft play - credit to Christina, who remembered my son and made the effort to have many conversations with him, soft play is located in the same location as the children's pools, which are fantastic and watched at all times by lifeguards. Overall, while there were some positive aspects, the noise, lack of comfort, and service issues made it difficult to fully enjoy our stay.

Family of 18 people all different ages All food in the restaurants is Luke warm Booked restaurants are not al a carte and are the same food as the buffet restaurant Splash park has not been open for 4 days! If your Spanish you can play ball in the pool if your from the Uk your stopped If your Spanish you can go on the pirate ship with your children if your from the Uk your stopped All entertainment is in Spanish ! Kids entertainment/evening entertainment/ aqua aerobics !! If you go to the beach eventhough you need your hotel card to gain access to it once you get there drinks /food / sunbeds/ parasols etc are all chargeable No iron in the room you can rent one for 20 euros should you be lucky enough that they got one there for you to rent Why is tui selling this holiday to Uk residents? We have travelled to various hotels around the world but would definitely not come back here ! This is supposed to be tui 4 star plus I dread to think what tui star hotels are like !!
