The hotel has 2 buildings. One building is the "older" part and one the "new" part. The rooms in older part are little bigger then in new part. I stayed 4 nights. After 2 days the elevators not work anymore. The next day the give me room in the new part. The breakfast is simple but good. All the staff are very friendly. The pool looks nice but I didn't use it. Hotel is near evening market. Just 1 minute walk. Near are a lot of restaurants and bar. To the airport just 15 minutes. Overal a very pleasant stay at Star Hotel in Chiang Mai. I sure will come back.

This is my regular place to stay when I go on business trips to Chiang Mai.
The front lobby has been relocated to the newly expanded building, and it is clean and spacious.
The breakfast menu is not very extensive, but it is very convenient because it opens at 6am.
The hotel staff are all very friendly. (They don't speak Japanese.)
It was a bit disappointing that the bathroom in the new building only had a shower and no bathtub, and the temperature of the shower water was not stable.
