Checked in at almost midnight. The owner was lovely and took good care of us. Took us to buy stuff at 7-11. Checked out at almost noon. After an hour, the owner called to say that he didn't pay for a bottle of water even though we didn't drink it. You should check first what brand of water is placed behind your refrigerator. And what brand of water did we buy from 7-11? It's 20 baht. We can definitely pay for it. You called to demand 20 baht. We were confused about the 20 baht. The room was not soundproof at all. At 6 am, there was the sound of horns, people walking, and all kinds of sounds. From thinking that I would sleep late and wake up late, it turned out that I had to wake up and play because I couldn't sleep.

Just booked here a few hours before I checked in on a Saturday in the high as I had to catch an early morning flight on Sunday. It's quite far out in a quiet area (if there is no noisy party opposite) of the city, so you need a vehicle. The room was much better than I expected, but I wouldn't stay here for a longer time. All in all really okay.

The lady that runs Don Chai guest house made our monthly stay in Chiang Mai! She is the sweetest caring lady. If I’m ever back in Chiang Mai I will definitely stay there!

We had a delightful stay at Donchai House. Our hosts, Nuy and Barry were wonderful. They were both so generous and kind and really made our stay feel very homely. We often ate there, enjoying both Thai and western food. Our room was spacious, clean and with a well stocked. We particularly enjoyed our balcony in the cooler evenings. Chiang Mai is easily reachable by either Grab, or Nuy's competitive alternative - she'll drive you anywhere if she's available! We had a great week staying here and would highly recommend it to anyone.
