I strongly recommend that anyone unfamiliar with this hotel ask to see the room before paying. We really regret not doing that this time. We actually stayed at this hotel about two years ago and had a decent room back then, so this time we blindly trusted it would be good enough again. Based on that past experience, we went ahead and paid 550 pesos upfront—before seeing the room. That was a mistake. As soon as we entered, we were hit with an almost unbearable smell coming from the bathroom. We turned on the air conditioning, hoping it would help, but it didn’t make much of a difference. We didn’t leave to look for another hotel at first—we were just heading out to get something to eat. On the way, we came across another hotel and decided to ask if we could see a room. It was much cleaner, better maintained, and even cheaper (likely due to a promotion). That’s when we realized how badly we regretted rushing into the first place. We went back to the original hotel, politely explained the situation, and asked if we could get at least a partial refund because of the room’s condition. Unfortunately, we were refused. We left the key and chose to stay at the other hotel instead. To the management and staff: If you want guests to return, please invest in maintaining the rooms properly and show more flexibility when things clearly fall short. Thank you.
