Apartamentos "Ala Residencias"

Technically, this is an Air BnB although it can be a mix I guess. The location is great - within walking distance to the center of town and many restaurants and bars. The room, albeit was on the ground level and on a busy boulevard, was surprisingly quiet. The room is spacious, has the feeling of being a big studio/library. The beds were comfortable, the toiletries were great and the light in the room was just fine. Good internet connectivity. The room was clean and had a big fridge with kitchen and the basic utensils, including a coffee maker! Staff was welcoming and attentive. The cons: parking! There is space for 2 cars and when we were getting ready to leave, the electric gate to the driveway stopped working and although the staff attended our call rather promptly, it was an inconvenience. We also stayed on the bottom floor and we had a bit of difficulty with the key from inside so resorted to using the door that gives way directly into the street - you literally, open the door and are on the street! One key element to note, there is only one pool! (Don't be misguided by the note on the internet that tends to suggest that each room has its own pool - we didn't get to use it!)

Hotel is in a very good location for the ferry to Caye Caulker. The staff were friendly and helpful and the facilities were clean. Would recommend for anyone passing through to or from the ferry.

The amenities were amazing. The beds were super soft and clean. Easily one of the best stays in chetumal, the rooms are gorgeous and the staff are amazing. Our family got two gorgeous rooms to ourselves and the staff always made sure we were comfortable and well attended to.
