Really nice jungle setting on a lagoon. Great and clean cabins, friendly staff, home made fresh food always available. Kayaks and SUP included and we really enjoyed spending a day kayaking on the lagoon. It is very quiet and feels so good to be without generator or other machine noise, no traffic. Complete different experience than staying in a hotel and for us it was so worth it. There is AC and WiFI and all you need but simply enjoy nature an connect in a different way is the biggest benefit you can experience here if you wish. Thank you all and especially "Xochitl" for sharing this special place open hearted with us. Truly a hidden gem and very affordable, anyone who loves nature will be delighted.

Il luogo è esattamente come viene descritto: un oasi remota dove godersi pace e tranquillità lontano dal trambusto della civiltà, ma comunque conservando alcuni confort. La laguna è enorme ed è ad uso quasi esclusivo di questa struttura, dato che ci sono pochissimi abitanti nell'area, non si vedrà passare nessuno. Il luogo ospita poche persone, in capanne sparse nella giungla che appaiono proprio come nelle foto. La nostra aveva una doccia enorme e l'aria condizionata. Il clima è fantastico, ma bisogna portare un repellente anti-zanzare. La struttura dispone anche di una piccola piscina, di aree comuni esterne ben attrezzate, con sdrai, lettini, gazebo, etc, e con prese (per uso PC/tablet). Inoltre è presente un ristorante-bar con piatti cucinati sul posto e wi-fi. Si può usare gratuitamente il kayak ed il personale è molto paziente e cordiale. Tranquillità garantita.

First of all, El Chital appears in hotel searches in Bacalar, but it is in fact 1h 15min away from Bacalar, and the road there, especially at the end, is terrible! The service was good but the cabin was a big disappointment as it was very impractical: there was no desk, no TV, no chairs, no closets, no drawers - no place to store clothes and other items. Furthermore, there was no internet in the cabin and even in the "main building" it was very poor. The cabins are a bit far from the parking area and one really has to carry the luggage to the cabin, as the gravel paths don't allow the rolling of the suitcase wheels. There were also a lot of ants in the cabin. Swimming in the lake was unpleasant as the the bottom of the lake was muddy. The owners have tried to make the place nice but unfortunately they still have a lot of work to do.
