Very friendly staff and a wonderful, spacious and clean room (Room 1) with an overall very pleasant atmosphere. Especially as a woman travelling alone it was a very pleasant experience, I always felt comfortable and safe. The central location is very convenient for exploring the beautiful city and I will happily book here again on my next stay in Chester.

Did a surprise party for my husband’s 70th birthday everyone had a great time , the staff were lovely nothing was to much trouble and as for the food we had the hot buffet it was amazing,my friends and family are still taking about it so thank you all at the coach house you really did us proud

We had the pleasure of staying here while we were in the area for our daughters wedding. We used the trip advisors review's to find a hotel and decided on the Coach house. We had 5 total nights and couldn't have made a better choice. Rooms were comfortable, the food was great. Most of the time we would eat our meals here, the eggs Benedict was a great start to the day, I have never had a better hollandaise sauce. They have a cheese board on the menu that we ordered every lunch and dinner, loved it. The staff always made us feel like they were actually happy to see us. The location is within the wall's of the city and the architecture of the area amazing. We're from the U.S. but if we were to find ourselves back in the area the Coach house would definitely be our home away from home.

Great restaurant located in the city centre which offers a set menu either 2 course meal for £20ppn or a 3 course for £25ppn good selection of food which was excellent quality and cooked to perfection with good size portions served by friendly staff,

Pleasant stay for one night, whilst in Chester for the theatre (Storyhouse is really close!) As it's only a small hotel (it's essentially a pub with some rooms ), there was no one manning reception, but it didn't take long to get someone's attention and get checked in Having read previous reviews, I have to admit that my heart sank when we were handed the key to room no. 9. However, the room was fine. Is this a luxury hotel? No, but I'm not sure that it claims to be that either! We'd taken earplugs, and I'm glad that we did (it was Saturday night in a busy city centre - we were in an old building, you expect noise). However we slept well, and the bed was very comfortable. My only concern is that you are given ONE key, which opens the hotel door (after hours), the door to get up the stairs to the rooms, AND your hotel room. this suggests to me that our key would have opened all of the hotel rooms? There is a safe provided, so I suggest putting your valuables in there for that reason alone!

The hotel is in a great spot in Chester and my friend I chose it because of the favourable reviews on a third party booking website. I can see that there is a recent review on Trip Advisor which warns against staying in room 9. I wish we’d seen it before we booked! We had this room for our one night stay, and it was clean but very shabby. There were iron burn marks in the carpet (see the photos) and the walls were paper thin and we hardly slept, disturbed by the snoring of the people in the next room. As we were leaving, we noticed that a couple of doors of other rooms were open and we had a quick peek - they were considerably better than the room we had! We had breakfast at the hotel was fine and reasonable value for money.
