Sleep Inn & Suites Chesapeake - Portsmouth

Room was clean and comfortable. We didn’t use any of the offered amenities so cannot rate or comment. We traveled to the area for a medical appointment and motel was very conveniently located to medical facility and places to eat. We would definitely stay again if the need arose

The staff was sooo nice, and they all seemed to be very happy. When I relayed this observation to the gentleman at the front desk, he said, they are all treated like family, and it shows. The young man from the Dominican Republic, before clearing the breakfast buffet, asked everyone if they needed anything else before he would clean up, even passed the 9 am breakfast ending time. I was impressed.( I have experienced quite the opposite at some hotels before, even a half emptied breakfast buffet before it's ending time and comments like: when it's gone, it's gone). Not at this hotel. They refill with a smile and make sure you get what you need before closing the buffet.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The Handicap Accessible room was GREAT. My husband is an amputee and he had no problems getting around. He loved the shower. It was very easy for him to use. The room was clean. We would definitely stay again.

Hotel was clean , quiet, front desk staff is friendly , I had an over all good experience except one issue, the house keeping staff (2 young men didn’t speak English) were unprofessional & harassed as my friend & I walked down the hall. we ignored them & kept walking into my room. I hope owner screens their employees before hiring them. On another note I love that they had chargers for EV vehicles, I would def visit this hotel again , price was reasonable as well.

I loved this hotel. It was super quiet and had an indoor pool and got tub. The front desk staff was friendly and the breakfast was good (fruit, muffins, bagels, toast, waffles, yogurt, cereal, milk). I got an accessible room and the shower was really good with a bench and everything. I also liked that the accessible room wasn't far from the elevator which is something that has been an issue for me in the past. I would definitely stay here again.

As I was leaving on Tuesday, July 16, a black resident (I assume) of the motel accosted me as I came off of the elevator. He began calling me racial names and telling me that I was “privileged” because I am white. I went to the front desk and asked for the owner of the motel. The Asian clerk informed me that she couldn’t not give out his telephone number. I told her I wanted to file a complaint and explained what this man had done to me. He acted like he was an employee, picking up and broom to sweep the parking lot so I told her she shouldn’t have employees making racial slurs to patrons. She said, “Oh him”? “”He doesn’t work here.” I said well he claims he does. You shouldn’t even have patrons here that are going to make racial slurs at other patrons. She thought it was hilarious. I will leave a review everywhere I am able. If you are Caucasian, or a single female, I do not suggest staying at this motel. I stayed there last month as I work in VA but live in another state/ last month I was very pleased, but also an elderly Asian gentlemen was on duty, and he and his wife were very cordial. I’m assuming the clerk is a relative of their’s and I hope they read this review. Teresa Hawco Room 300, Studio Suites 4 Less.

Super soft sheets, great coffee which is accessible 24/7 & comfortable room. Good value for the price. Book ahead and online for cheaper rates. Breakfast is enough to get you on the road in the morning. This hotel chain is solid and I seek it out as my first choice if it’s an option for where I am going.

The best thing about Sleep Inn & Suites Chesapeake is the staff. Their commitment to guest comfort and satisfaction is admirable. They make us feel very welcome. The rooms have nice amenities like wardrobe, microwave, coffee machine, minibar and iron. Beds are very comfortable too. It's an excellent value for money.

Hotel rates in this area seem very high. This was not worth the money spent. They have attempted to upgrade but it’s hit or miss. New shower walls and paint but woodwork still dirty and paint chipped. We just needed a place to sleep for the night so it was adequate. I would not want to stay longer. Breakfast closed at 9:00 am on a weekend so did not get to try it. Seems kind of early to close for those getting in late.
