Two Rivers Lodge by Marston’s Inns

Overnight stay following a wedding. Great location for our purpose. Room was clean and had all of the expected amenities and services. Tea tray was well stocked. Check in is 2pm, which was awkward as the wedding service was at 1:30. I booked two rooms so paid an additional £20 to check in early at one of these rooms. I telephoned the reservations team on two occasions a few days prior to our stay to enquire about the check in process and how access to the room would be facilitated since we would not be returning from the wedding until 1am. My only criticism would be the lack of clarity I received from the respondents. As a result of the insufficient answers to my questions, I made provision to leave the wedding venue during the day to check in at the second room. Upon arrival at the Two Rivers, all my additional arrangements were negated as the gentleman who checked us in, allowed us to check in for the second room there and then and take the key card. Other family members were staying in the room and I was paying for it. The access to the room was via a separate accommodation block and simply using the key card. All my additional arrangements to check in during the day were unnecessary. It would have been very easy if the respondents to my telephone calls earlier that week had given me that information. We had a good night's sleep and the breakfast was excellent and very reasonably priced.

Beautiful roast and outstanding service from Owain :) will definitely be returning. Pigs in blankets was offered along with cauli cheese which was a wonderful recommendation! Happy young man with excellent humour. Thank you owain and all the kitchen team

We had the turkey, beef and trio roast which was absolutely outstanding quality! Our service from Owen made our visit just everything we wanted for a family Sunday meal. Charming and enthusiastic. Will definitely come back again. Loved the main menu was still on offer too

Lovely lunch was looked after by owain will definitely be returning. Good hot food and excellent service. One thing we loved is not rushed. Good communication and all round a genuine lovely feel to the place will definitely be returning take care

Arrived at the two rivers pleasantly suppressed with our service and 30% off discount. We had a wonderful time and the atmosphere was good. Seemed a bit busy but did not effect our service. Thank you Owain will definitely be back soon. The fish is amazing

This is the 2nd time in the last month my family and I have chosen to visit the Two Rivers, this time for Sunday lunch after an emotional weekend. Where to start….. I really can’t say enough about the wonderful staff, again so friendly, warm and extremely welcoming. They again went above and beyond for us. The food again was delicious (Sunday roast this time). They made sure our special dietary requirements were met again and that we enjoyed the food. The staff went above and beyond again for us, especially when they had problems (unfortunately) with their coffee machine. Nothing seemed to be too much for the lovely staff to deal with. Thank you so much again for making my family so welcome and amazing food. We will be coming back xxx

We have stayed here many times whilst visiting family in Chepstow, always found the hotel to be clean and comfortable. We rarely eat at the restaurant but has been ok in the past( didn’t eat there on this occasion). Only thing I’d bring up was on our second night we had gone in for a drink to be told cash only as the systems were down nation-wide! We found this a bit weird as we had had no trouble at another restaurant nor one of Marston sister pubs up the road. When we asked if we could put the drinks on a room tab as we were staying there, we were told no. They tried the card machine and surprisingly it worked! Not sure where they had their information from, but they had definitely got it wrong.

We went with a group of our clients for lunch, we were attended by owen he was very helpful and efficient. The food was delicious and a good day was had by all. Kelly also assisted us towards the end and she was helpful and friendly too. A great place to go for a meal

First the good bits, this is an excellent hotel, good, clean room, free car parking and good location for the town. The staff were uniformly friendly and helpful and the pub food very good and reasonably priced. Breakfast is particularly recommended, great manager. The only downside was we booked a twin and got a double and in the middle evening we were joined by a very embarrassed gent who had been given at the same room complete with key. It wasn't the end of the world and was probably a one off but it did cast a bit of a shadow on our stay.
