Delightful place! Nice porch and easy walk to the creek, where we built a small fire. Highly recommend for a getaway within driving distance to Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest.

Read my entire review because it's not all bad. Below, Tom L said, "Rivers Edge is under new ownership..." I don't know how he found out, but that helps explain the feeling of an unmaintained property. Also, the "resort" is clearly much older than it looks on the website. We stayed in Unit 4, Black Walnut. The binder, which looked like it was a decade old, had the "meet the owners" page removed. The information inside seemed hopelessly outdated. Why can't the new owners replace the binder? How much would that cost? Inside, overall, I'd say that the treehouse was clean. The bed was comfortable. The only issues were as follows: (1) Communications were below par. The only way to communicate with the person/people at River's Edge was via voice phone call. I received no response to my inquiries via the website's contact form, text messaging or email. (2) The TV was moved to a location across from the bed. That was good, except for the fact that something was wrong with the TV, so we couldn't watch it. The "troubleshooting" information in the old, raggedy, sticky, out-of-date guest information binder had tips for troubleshooting, but the tips were for a different TV! Admittedly, we didn't go to River's Edge for the TV, but it would've been nice to have a TV that works. The outdated binder says to text the number to get assistance, but no one responded to my messaging. (3) The toilet was horrendously weak. I was afraid to use it for fear of stopping it up. I had to use facilities elsewhere to avoid serious problems. (4) The windows need cleaning, especially the ones on top. It looks like no one has washed them for 10 years or more. (5) One of the main windows on floor level was cracked and held together with tape. At the rates they charge, I think they could afford to replace a broken window, but they didn't. That's cheesy and says a lot about the new owners. (6) The air conditioner was extremely loud. It sounded like it's about to break down. Also, an error light was illuminated saying the filter needed to be replaced. Does River's Edge have anyone to do maintenance? (7) The night stands, were stained and marred, most likely due to excessive age & use. They are borderline gross. I think the night stands must be replaced as an ethical responsibility to River's Edge guests. (8) I seriously doubt that the security code to enter the treehouse has ever been changed. Not a big deal, but a definite security risk, especially since the security gate was open and - obviously - completely inoperable. On the good side, the river view is nice, and we enjoyed going down to the river via an ill-maintained path. Some people built a campfire, but others, like us, enjoyed sitting by the peaceful water. All said, the lodging cost at River's Edge was too high, considering the age and dilapidation of the property. The treehouse, however, got the job done, so River's Edge deserves at least some credit. We don't regret staying at River's Edge, but the e

What a unique lodging experience. The rooms were comfortable and clean, with nice outdoor deck in the trees. Outdoor social areas with fire pits and seating, amongst the tree houses and by the river below were available for gatherings.

We have visited several times in the past and were looking forward to this visit. Rivers Edge is under new ownership and the personal touch left with the previous owners. The gate for the units is no longer by code access only. Anyone can drive into the area where the units are located. There used to be a welcome placard at the gate which is desparately in need of repair...or torn down. It now just looks pitiful. The welcome book and area guide in our unit had not been updated for at least 2 years. There are no new instructions on how to opeate the TV/remote control. I had to make a call to determine how to operate the TV. The lights on the rails and over the deck are on a timer which remains on until 9:30 pm. So no sitting on the deck in darkness. The resort is still quaint in a great area of the state. But, the personal touch is missing. FYI, it appears that the new owners do not reside onsite. Maybe that's why the personal touch is missing. For anyone visiting the first time, I am sure they will find that Rivers Edge lives up to expectations but previous visitors may be disappointed.

We set out on an impromptu adventure to the mountains and stumbled upon this gem! They were willing to accommodate us last minute which was great! The tree houses are so nicely done. Although close together, they feel very private inside. Each one has its own private deck up in the trees. This would be an ideal place for a gathering of friends/family with a central fire pit and picnic area on the river. The set up would also be great for those on motorcycles as there is covered parking under each tree house. The best part is inside the tree house which feels like a luxury hotel. It has AC, mini fridge and microwave- Everything you’d need! It was spotlessly clean. The bed was no kidding the most comfortable I’ve ever slept on. Thanks for everything- looking forward to a return trip and hope to stay longer next time!

Wife & I stayed 3 nights to celebrate her birthday. Very unique experience. We hauled our motorcycle to ride the Tail of the Dragon & the Treehouse resort was much quieter, serene, & peaceful than other motorcycle resorts in the area. Highly suggest staying there…

This was a wonderful place to stay! It was quiet, peaceful, and awesome to hear the stream running just outside our treehouse. The bed was very comfortable, the lighting was perfect, and we appreciated the lighted pathway to the stream. Although it felt remote, it was actually about a mile from the center of Robbinsville, which has restaurants, convenience stores, and a coffee shop. We would highly recommend this for couples that want to just get away, connect with nature, and have a peaceful place to rekindle fires and take rejuvenating strolls.

The property is next to a very busy road. We were really disappointed that we couldn’t relax on the deck without hearing cars, motorcycles roaring by. Plus our unit smelled like cheap perfume. I don’t know if it’s the cleaning supplies or what but it was a strong floral smell coming from the bathroom. I’m sensitive to perfume so instantly my throat started closing up. Super disappointed in this staythat was over $250 for the night. Plus, it appeared the cleaners left a bag of trash from the previous clean on the deck so minus points for that. Trash bag in pic was there when we arrived.
