Clarence Court Hotel

So lovely to be back at this beautiful hotel to celebrate our Birthday weekend. Warm welcome on arrival from Abbie. It felt like we were coming home ! Once in room our little whippet had a water bowl and a bag of treats and the room was super clean and well presented. The following morning we had a lovely buffet breakfast set up for us in the bar and Rosie had some more treats! Chris the breakfast waitress was friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Chris and Elaine made us feel so welcome and we are already looking forward to our return visit in October.

A lovely family run hotel. Very traditional and honest to it's roots. A lovely hotel in the heart of Cheltenham. The room and bathroom were very clean and the bathroom was very modern and immaculate. Real solid furnishings with solid units. No modern tacky inclusions and a delight to spend the night. As this is on a dead end road it's a great quiet location too. I'm sure we'll be back. Having stayed twice the view to the front is the best.

- No air conditioning - Only one tiny fan to keep two people cool in a heat wave! - outdated decor in rooms and hallways - needs fresh carpets and paint, with more modern furniture to bring it back to life - staff were pleasant enough - breakfast was really below par, for a 4 star to claim a continental breakfast which turned out to be 3 juices (orange, apple and one other), some cheap filter coffee and really basic pastry options which didn’t seem fresh on the day is laughable. The cooked English was very average, we had to ask for toast separately and I had to remind them for butter and my brown sauce which is just all basic stuff which should happen quickly without having to remind staff (it wasn’t exactly a busy morning). What’s annoyed me the most is the cost, at £200 per night I expect much better. I’ve stayed in 3 stars better equipped with better breakfast. This is a very dated hotel and the management team need to stop taking customers for a ride. I’m shocked how many 5/4 star reviews this place has. The staff were all friendly and I have no problem with them, location wise it’s very good for centre of Cheltenham but everything else, poor.

Just a 1 night stay on a very hot night. Room had a lovely big bed , large shower & a fan ! Breakfast was cooked to order, served hot on a hot plate - no complaints here. Breakfast staff very friendly & helpful . Small car park but we found a space. Would stay again.

This could be a really good place, nice building, quiet, close to town, but let down by the fact the shower handset had so little pressure it couldn't form a proper spray, and you had to move furniture to plug a phone charger in - weird they haven't fixed these things. For the amount they charge, you expect a decent shower.
