Oddfellows on the Park

I discovered this hidden gem by accident. I had almost given up on finding a hotel that was close enough to the airport as well as to local shopping and had ac. There are only two things I have a problem with in regards to this place. Please note there is not an elevator or lift as the UK states. The other draw back is there is no way to shield the light in the bathroom area. It is hard to describe. There is a beautiful glass door to the right and left in the bath area with a sink in the middle of the space. If one has to get up to use the facilities the light being turned on glares in the face of the other one in bed. One other note is to be careful when closing the glass door. When I closed the door, my finger got closed in the door and it actually cut my finger below the cuticle. After 3 days, my finger is blue and sore. While the hotel is directly under the local airport's flight pattern, we never heard planes unless we were outside. The grounds are astounding as is the building itself. Make sure to check out the artwork throughout the place. If you like hidden staircases, watch out. The place appears to be kid friendly. There is a fabulous playground adjacent to the property. Make sure to purchase duck food for the locals. The bar, while somewhat limited in its offerings, was suitable for us. As to cost, the prices were comparable if not better than other bars/pubs we have visited.. We did not dine in the restaurant, but from what I say, the food looked amazing. The young man working reception was so very nice to help with our luggage as well as anything else we may have needed. The young ladies working in the bar were also very nice. In fact, they were so embarrassed by my asking to take their photo. They said no one had ever asked to take their photo.

we had a wonderful oval weekend here, you live in the lovely English countryside, like a noble in a castle, in the middle of a park, and everything is right, breakfast, afternoon tea, dinner and great wines (although we missed a more precise wine list that also tells you the year and producer and not only says which vineyard in Burgundy the wine comes from, also somewhat high prices for the wine) Wine is taken seriously and there were large glass wine cabinets in the restaurant. Great big room with a view. The place is recommended.

Stayed in one of the suites - decent hotel and close to Manchester Airport. Room clean, lots of room, plenty of weird features which make it interesting. Very powerful shower and good complimentary toiletries. Welcoming reception staff. Overall, a good hotel.

In the area one morning so stopped by for breakfast. Lovely building on first impressions. Lady attending to tables was very pleasant in dining room. Menu had options from £12 - 20. I opted for the £20 breakfast. This included cereal (not bothered), toast etc. Not a good spread auxiliary to the breakfast options, e.g. no fruit / yogurt etc. Coffee was dreadful. Sorry, you need address this. Coffee should be ground - not some weak muck in a teapot. Aside from that, food was nice. Service good. Nice backdrop. Small things let it down as stated.

Visited for Afternoon tea. With a voucher bought as a present. We were shown to our table by Jake. He was very polite & explained what we got. First we were asked if we would like a bottle of water. When the stand arrived it had everything for 2 people. Sandwiches, sausage rolls, wraps, scones with jam & cream plus 3 different types of cakes. Tea & coffee were free flowing all you had to do was ask. Because we had more than we could eat we asked for something to put the cakes in. We were give plastic tubs to bring them home. All in all a very special afternoon. Staff & food were excellent.

One of the best hotel stays we have ever experienced. The staff were welcoming, friendly and clearly work as an efficient team. The hotel is situated in a beautiful park so there were pleasant walks to be had. The restaurant staff were attentive and nothing was too much trouble. When we asked our waitress about the history of the building, she had a member of staff come up to our room later that evening with a booklet on the building’s past. However, the star of the show, although it was hard to choose, was the hotel chef. The food was, not only,exceptional but innovative and what you would expect in a high-end restaurant. Every morsal was a delight. Already planning our next visit.

This most amazing afternoon tea bought for us. The service was excellent. I've has a lot of afternoon teas and this was one of the best. Thank you Oddfellowss on the Park. Very lean toilets, brilliant music. Calm environment for couples and adults.

Brilliant overnight stay. Staff excellent. Hotel beautiful and in a fantastic parkland with lots of open spaces to walk. On site facilities include lovely cocktail bar and restaurant with fantastic food. Room well equipped and immaculately clean.100% recommend.
