Oddfellows on the Park

Nicely situated hotel in park grounds. 25 minute walk to Cheadle town centre. Beautiful rooms although was surprised there was only all over body wash and separate hair conditioner. No shampoo or body lotion. Breakfast was self service for juice, cereals and toast but you ordered mains separately. Staff very nice. We were there for a wedding for 2 nights and the booking of the rooms was badly managed. My son on his own ended up paying over £400 as they said he had booked the suite which he hadn’t.

I discovered this hidden gem by accident. I had almost given up on finding a hotel that was close enough to the airport as well as to local shopping and had ac. There are only two things I have a problem with in regards to this place. Please note there is not an elevator or lift as the UK states. The other draw back is there is no way to shield the light in the bathroom area. It is hard to describe. There is a beautiful glass door to the right and left in the bath area with a sink in the middle of the space. If one has to get up to use the facilities the light being turned on glares in the face of the other one in bed. One other note is to be careful when closing the glass door. When I closed the door, my finger got closed in the door and it actually cut my finger below the cuticle. After 3 days, my finger is blue and sore. While the hotel is directly under the local airport's flight pattern, we never heard planes unless we were outside. The grounds are astounding as is the building itself. Make sure to check out the artwork throughout the place. If you like hidden staircases, watch out. The place appears to be kid friendly. There is a fabulous playground adjacent to the property. Make sure to purchase duck food for the locals. The bar, while somewhat limited in its offerings, was suitable for us. As to cost, the prices were comparable if not better than other bars/pubs we have visited.. We did not dine in the restaurant, but from what I say, the food looked amazing. The young man working reception was so very nice to help with our luggage as well as anything else we may have needed. The young ladies working in the bar were also very nice. In fact, they were so embarrassed by my asking to take their photo. They said no one had ever asked to take their photo.

Another excellent overnight stay at Oddfellows on the park. This is our second time staying, with the first being October 2022. Nothing has changed and we love it. Same decor, wonderfully comfortable beds, lovely friendly staff, great food, great surroundings. We particularly enjoy the pitch and putt nearby in the park. Particularly love the al carte breakfast offerings - not the usual horrible buffets! Previously we stayed in the Kendal Suite, this time we stayed in a club plus room and one is as lovely as the other. I know some complained RE the bathroom set up, but I love it. It’s modern and an excellent use of space. One minor issue is that the silicone areas in the shower need attending too but I haven’t down rated the hotel due to this, as I’ve stayed at a number of 5 star resorts lately across the world and this seems to generally be an issue no matter where I go. Regardless, we will be back again soon!

We stayed two nights in the very quirky hotel.the venue and surrounding Bruntwood Park were very special. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. However our ground floor room was very small and I believe it is only fit for SINGLE occupancy. The housekeeping needs improvement as our bathroom was never refreshed during our stay.

We had a pre booked walk in Sunday Morning breakfast, great service and value for money with good quality produce. The staff are pleasant, however parking can be tricky as not many spaces for how many bedrooms. Unlimited drinks, juice, pastries, cerals and hot food for £20/person. Excllent location for any onward travel.
