Fantastic stay at Doxford. Grounds are beautiful. Spa facilities very good. Breakfast generous and great quality. Spa bath in room deliberately disabled in all rooms which isn't ideal.

The environment of the hotel is good. Friendly staff but the room is dated and the cleanliness is not as good as we expected.
The location is quite inconvenient you must drive wherever you want to go. And the road condition is very bad nearby potholes everywhere so I damaged my tyre.

This was a return visit for us as it was my wife's birthday treat. As previously, a very enjoyable stay overall. Food was excellent, as was the service but with one slight niggle, at the standard of the hotel and the prices, I don't expect to have to top up my own wine glass during my meal, maybe just me. Also the wine bottle should be presented with a 'collar' so you don't end up with red wine rings on the table cloth from drips. Otherwise the service would have been a 5. Cleanliness would also have been a 5 if the shower hadn't had black mould patches (room 4). We were only there one night so didn't make a big deal about it, but did report the wobbly toilet seat to reception at check out. Would still highly recommend this hotel and will return again.

If you’re staying here because of the spa facilities then you might want to reconsider. Spa facilities are old and tired. The hotel building itself is lovely, as are the gardens. The staff were very warm & friendly. The evening meal we had in the bar (market menu) was very good. Breakfast not so good, quite dry and I’d advise not to choose scrambled eggs, they really don’t know how to cook them. I notice that others have written negative reviews about the spa facilities so I really hope that the owners will take note and renovate. The sauna needs a complete overhaul as the wood is disintegrating. Accessibility was bad as the lift wasn’t working (according to reviews it was also out of order 4 months ago.) You have to go down2 flights of stairs to access the facilities. Changing rooms are mixed. Hot tub smelt strongly of chemical cleaner. I’d recommended installing a costume spinner to save trying to dry swimming costumes in our rooms (From staying at other spas we found this to be an ingenious addition). There were no staff in attendance.

We had a great stay, rooms were quiet, slightly dusty. Wedding evening meal was mainly gluten free (staff had to ask chef for me) Breakfast was amazing as had gluten free bread for toast and gluten free English breakfast. Staff were great and very helpful

Fantastic area to visit and Doxford hall is ideally situated. The staff are friendly and full of good local advise. The hotel facilities are very good and the food is first class.

Managed to amend our booking at short notice after our daughter fell ill. Staff were v accommodating. Spa is a bit tired but clean. Food was excellent

What a fantastic stay. Everything was impeccable, from the welcome at the reception to our luxurious four-poster room (with a happy anniversary message written in a player in chocolate, complete with some choccies). The spa and pool, though busy in the afternoon, allowed a good swim before dinner and also before breakfast next day. The evening meal was simply superb (try the feather blade beef), and the breakfast excellent as well. The staff couldn't have been more friendly and professional. To top iit off there is even a maze to enjoy before leaving!!!
