The room was clean, the service was excellent, and the location was great. I would definitely stay here again. The hotel also has a swimming pool and a water slide for kids, making it a great place for a family stay.

Staff friendly and efficient, responding quickly to my request. Room quite clean, good amenities. Included breakfast is a plus though food choice a bit limited. Room musty. I bought a bottle of Fe breeze and left it in the room when I left for future guests. Curtains old and worn. Lack of sheer, to preserve privacy, one has to pull the whole curtain resulting in a dark room. Air conditioner really loud (old). I compare that to standing next to a transport truck engine. No way anyone can sleep with the unit on at night. So hope for cool nights and having it off.

Great place offering location, friendly informed staff, and a healthy hot buffet breakfast that fueled us for our hardy days on a walking tour of Charlottetown, longish bike ride on the Confederation Trail, and easy 30 minute drive to hike along the coast in the national park. The woman at the desk gave us a recommendation for the perfect no nonsense fresh seafood restaurant (Prince & Water Corner Shop) and arranged for taxis after we had turned in our rental car---with charm and enthusiasm. We'd do this same visit to Charlottetown in a heartbeat.

The architecture of this hotel is a marvel... we stayed in the "addition" which you could only get to by either walking through a dark ballroom, or driving around the building to the opposite corner from the reception desk. The floor in the hallway was at a significant incline (not level) and the only window in the room look out into the hallway (not outside). So that if your curtains were open, even slightly, anyone walking through the hallway could see into your room!

We booked a ground floor room but they said ground floor is full when we arrived. I don't understand how. But that's not a big deal when compared to room they offered us when we arrived at 2200hr worth 3 young boys. IT WAS NOT CLEANED. You can see the dirty towels in the tub. Garbage bin was full. Beds were used. Though they did reacted quickly, sent room service immediately and offered us to let the kids play in the game room while we wait, which took around an hour, as we were exhausted from the day of driving and playing around the city with the young kids, I was quite overwhelmed. My youngest was only 10 months old, so that definitely messed up my plan and my kids got overexcited and we rested much much later then we expected.

We stayed 2 nights at Rodd Royalty in the suburbs of Charlottetown (surrounded by big box stores and beside a storage unit). The highlight of this hotel according to our teen son was the impressive 105ft, super fast waterslide which he went down easily 40 times over or 2 day stay. This is an old building that looks like it was maybe a retirement home?? Our suite had updated carpet, paint, furniture and a renovated bathroom. The bedroom and bathroom were down a small hallway from the very large living room w pullout couch. The AC in the living room didn’t reach the bedroom so there was a window AC unit which was super loud and had to be turned off to sleep. The games room looked ok but didn’t entice us. The breakfast was similar to a Holiday Inn breakfast (french toast, pancakes, sausage, eggs) nothing very tasty so we went to Tim’s for the second breakfast. The rooms still need a little work (old windows, old discoloured light switches & electrical outlets, old furnace vent covers on baseboards)

Very old, dark and dismall property. Doesn't have any similarities with the pictures provided in the website for reservation. There is a constant musty bad smell from the carpet, the curtains are extremely dirty, the common area lighting is poor and unflattering. The front desk behaviour is very bad. Check out is at 11am unlike most other hotels 12pm. The AC was extremely loud, very difficult to sleep through it. We booked a suite, which is actually a large room with a partition in between with low ceilings. The sofa bed is extremely worn out. The game room has only 1 foosball and 1 board game. More than $350 a night feels like a rip off for what I got. All the advertised pictures are modified. I felt completely scammed and will never ever go back there again. Worse experience than a motel. Please stop putting false advertisement , remove all the 4.5 stars from ******* and remove Royalty from the name.

To get the best value for money book a suite. It’s also more quiet. The accommodation can be quite pricey in summer, but it get affordable enough during other seasons.
