A warm welcome, a large room ( nr 8 ) and old-fashioned bathroom. The main building (we did not enter the others) is a bit dated but has charm. The wine and cheese is great, the breakfast offered nice banana bread - and The Washington Post - thank you ! In colder months, when you cannot sit outside for breakfast, there are possibly not enough tables. Fabulous collection of books. We were there for one of the first cold nights of the year, and the heating in our room kicked in around 1:40 am. Made noise like a lawnmower ... The staff took note the next morning, and we hope they will tell future guests to unplug the (old) unit when turning in ... Despite that incident, we can recommend the Inn.

First the plus side of this inn Comfortable and clean rooms Friendly staff Location is excellent Back patio with fireplace Negatives of this inn Not enough parking for guests Noise level is outstanding- foot noise from rooms above, ac unit, and OMG the train that runs behind the inn twice during the middle of the night If you are a light sleeper then might have to think about staying here We were in Room 3. Lovely room. Along with all that noise, the ice machine Is right outside room 3 so you hear people getting ice, which they did at 11pm!!! Breakfast is very continental, meaning very basic. The baked banana bread, pumpkin bread and oatmeal cookies were delicious. The evening cheeses and crackers were very good too

Quiet, spacious room. Fantastic location only 1 block from the pedestrian mall and next door to South Street Brewery. Friendly, courteous staff. Excellent off-street parking. Very nice happy hour and continental breakfast. Love this place,

This is a lovely old home that has been made into a comfortable, cozy B&B. Homemade continental breakfast offerings are fresh and delicious each morning. Complimentary wine and cheese is served in the library each afternoon. We loved our stay however, be aware that you are in an urban area that makes for easy walking to many places but if you want total quiet, look elsewhere. A special thank you to Carolyn, our afternoon hostess. She is a charming asset to this place. Many thanks.

Such gracious hosts. Warm cookies, Happy Hour, delicious breakfast with homemade breads(they shared the recipe). Very comfortable and clean. TERRIFIC location. We were looking for a traditional inn on the East Coast and this was it! Very pleased. Thanks 200 South Street!

I picked this place after reading Google reviews, and it was a wonderful place to stay for a night. Nice curbside appeal with a beautiful wrap around porch and well landscaped front & back yard. The room was clean, and the common areas were nice. The wine and cheese hour was lovely— could have a little more, but still a treat. The continental breakfast was good, but you will need to go into town for something heartier. The backyard area had nice seating and a fireplace- was hoping they would turn on the lights strung around at night. Overall a solid choice and I hope to go back again!

We enjoyed our stay very much. The service was excellent, the room was comfortable and the Inn was charming. The Inn has a great front porch and beautiful courtyard. The location was convenient to the University and downtown Charlottesville.

Look its a lovely old home but in somewhat disrepair. My wide loved the antiques.The staff are nice. BUT: the bathroom is ancient, and toiletries and (rough) towels are ridiculous, right out of a Motel 6. The HVAC screams like a jet engine all night. Felt like $250/night was a rip off

We were in town for an event and spent the night here. Very convenient location near the downtown mall and walking distance to many restaurants. The cookies were great, as was the wine and cheese on offer as we arrived. Breakfast was good, yogurt, fruit, and various breads on offer. We enjoyed our stay
